This was a quick card to make, using an old piece of watercolouring from my stash. Over a year ago I tried watercolouring on Yupo paper with Brushos. I had read that Yupo does take watercolours, but I didn't have a lot of luck. The piece is pretty, but it took days to dry. And even now, if you touch it, the colour rubs off. So rather than throw it away, I layered it with acetate and a die-cut winter scene (NBUS) from AliExpress. The acetate layer protects the watercoloured yupo so that none of the colour will come off. I finished the card with a simple stamped sentiment in Silver Delicata ink. Easy, CAS design card.
Here's a close-up ...

Beautiful, peaceful card, Loll. I love the blue and white combo, it looks so crisp. I love that die-cut (you always have such lovely die-cuts) :)
Such a beautiful winter scene, Loll! I love the contrast of white with your blue background! Thanks for sharing your great idea on saving your piece of Yupo...using acetate was genius! Another stunning Christmas card for your stash :)

A beautiful card.

Beautiful background, Loll. I have never tried watercoloring on Yupo. I wonder if the T.H. Distress Glaze would keep it from smearing. You thought of a beautiful and creative way to protect your background with the acetate layer and peaceful die cut scene. TFS my friend. Hugs..Nancy
What a great way to save the pretty brusho background with the acetate layer. Fabulous die cut and the font on the sentiment looks so contemporary. Beautiful CAS Christmas card x.

A really lovely card, Loll. Thanks for the tip on Yupo and how to save something. :-)
Beautiful and serene card Loll! I love the look you got using the brusho's on the yupo paper and clever of you to use the acetate so the color wouldn't rub off when the recipient got the card. Love that die you used, will have to look for that one! Hugs, Brenda
I love all the details in this EF and your play of paint in your watercolor background fits in perfectly! Great idea to add acetate to keep the paint from rubbing off.
Great idea to put the acetate on the top of the watercoloured Yupo! The bright blue is glorious and perfect with that wonderful little die cut.
While unfortunate that it took so long to dry and doesn't hold the colors, it surely made a beautiful background for this card, Loll. Wow! Thanks for sharing how you use all your pieces! :)
That is a great way to save a lovely background. The die is really a great one with the deer on the pond. I love how you did the frame popped up.
This is so lovely Loll!! I never would have thought of water coloring on Yupo, but it looks FABULOUS! And what a great way to make it work by putting acetate over it so the color doesn't rub off!! And of course the simple die cut in white pops just beautifully off all that glorious blue! Lovely, lovely card my friend!! :0)
So crisp and frosty, Loll ... the white die cuts are fabulous against those lovely blues! Hugs, Anita :)
