Hi everyone. Today is the reminder for
February's CAS Watercolour Challenge. This month,
Marcia is our hostess and she has us using this fantastic colour combo ...
I wanted to use a new die I just got. I love the circle with the two seed flower heads. So pretty! So I knew I wanted to make a colourful background. I started with sprinkling pink magicals over my mixed media paper and spraying with water. I blotted with a paper towel to soften the colour and then used my heat tool to dry. I wanted to create a stencil image over top and used the ? stencil. I placed it over the pink background and sprinkled red magicals over top. This stencil is a very small design and I ended up with just a few rows of red tiles. But I had lots of red ink still left on my stencil, so turned it over the placed it on top of my background, blotting with a paper towel. I created a stencil monoprint and it ended up being just the look I wanted. Love happy mistakes! :)
Stamped a sentiment in Candied Apple Red which matched the colours perfectly. Used a 1 1/4" strip of leftover monoprint to add to the bottom inside of my card.
... and even closer look ...
Since I used powdered inks through a stencil for the background, I'm heading over to add this card to the
CAS Stencil Challenge gallery ...
