Hi everyone. Today is the reminder for
February's CAS Watercolour Challenge. This month,
Marcia is our hostess and she has us using this fantastic colour combo ...
I wanted to use a new die I just got. I love the circle with the two seed flower heads. So pretty! So I knew I wanted to make a colourful background. I started with sprinkling pink magicals over my mixed media paper and spraying with water. I blotted with a paper towel to soften the colour and then used my heat tool to dry. I wanted to create a stencil image over top and used the ? stencil. I placed it over the pink background and sprinkled red magicals over top. This stencil is a very small design and I ended up with just a few rows of red tiles. But I had lots of red ink still left on my stencil, so turned it over the placed it on top of my background, blotting with a paper towel. I created a stencil monoprint and it ended up being just the look I wanted. Love happy mistakes! :)
Stamped a sentiment in Candied Apple Red which matched the colours perfectly. Used a 1 1/4" strip of leftover monoprint to add to the bottom inside of my card.
... and even closer look ...
Since I used powdered inks through a stencil for the background, I'm heading over to add this card to the
CAS Stencil Challenge gallery ...

I love how you played with this color palette, Loll...Your background is absolutely beautiful! I also love how you placed those darling blooms (or maybe dandelions?)...no matter, they are perfectly placed inside the aperture, as always! Such a sweet card, and perfect for both challenges :)
An awesome card as always! XX Tee
As always Loll, a stunning card! Wonderful die cutting and such a gorgeous colour for the background, love it!

the pinks and reds really pop against that beautiful die cut :)
You know, every day I watch for your posts in awe of your talent. Thanks so much for showing your work and inspiring me. Smiling today!
Love your new flower seed die Loll. Looks spectacular in front of that stunning 'magical' background. Simple-eee beautiful.
A spectacular background and LOVE, love love that die, Loll! What a gorgeous shade of red and pink on this and love that mono print. I too would be hard pressed to name one single stnecil I own. Unfortunately I never kept track of whose they were or their names. Great card and technique!
What a beautiful watery stenciled background you created Loll! It looks lovely circle framed with the white panel and layered with those lovely die cut seed flowers! xx
Oh, what a lovely card! Beautiful color with the pink and red using a stencil! And, the die cut white flowers are perfect against the prettty background!
A fabulous "happy mistake"!! That is a wonderful background and great way to use the red and pink! I have that die cut - in case you want to know what it is, it's SSS Twinkle Flower.
Wow..Gorgeous monoprint stenciled background for your pretty die cut circle with wildflowers, Loll. Love your colors for your background and sentiment. So pleased you added your card to our CSCC challenge too. TFS your beauty, my friend. Hugs..Nancy
I don't know what it is but I am in love the variety of colors you get when using any of the powdered inks. Or Oxide smooshing for that matter. I am even still embracing faux painting on my walls. This is a beautifully vibrant background for your new die.
So beautiful, Loll! Your backgrounds are so visually interesting and gorgeous!
VERY Beautiful.

Gotta love happy accidents. Another “magical” make, Loll. The colours are so rich and beautiful. xx
Ooh, what a gorgeous background, Loll! I usually like the monoprint better when I try this technique! The white wispy flowers in the circle aperture look right at home!

That is a unique stencil and made a wonderful background for the white flowers. Plus, it fit the bill for another challenge. Your own twofer!
So pretty, Loll ... those little seed heads are so wonderfully delicate against the vibrant background ... a delight! Hugs, Anita :)
A great combination of background colors. This shape emphasizes the shape of the die beautifully. Great card, Loll.

Definitely happy mistake. Great idea to repeat inside the card too. Again, the same colour sentiment to add to this delicate white bloom foreground. What great stencilling FUN! xx
