Hi everyone. I'm playing along with June's Rudolph Days.
This is another card that I made at the retreat. I shared one HERE that is done with the same technique, which was led by Trina. How this was done is shared in my first post (link above).
This time I sponge just one colour of blue ink, fading out towards the center and then diluted white acrylic paint was splattered for falling snow. The die-cut reindeer was heat embossed in liquid platinum three times so it's thick and smooth looking. I might have over-heated it a bit as you'll see some black bits on the close-up shot. A simple white, heat embossed black sentiment banner finishes the card.
Here's a close-up ... you can see the woodgrain a little better in this shot.
Come join the fun at Rudolph Days. Challenge is open from the 25th until end of month.

It's beautiful ! And what a gorgeous technique!
ReplyDeleteWonderful card, Loll. I love how you've framed the beautiful reindeer. xx
ReplyDeleteLove the rich enameled look of the deer as well as the fantastic double embossed background. Thanks for describing that technique. It makes such a wonderful, textured card base. It also fascinates me that you are one of the few who can emboss white on black and not get those annoying white speckles. This is so perfectly done.
ReplyDeleteSuch a lovely silver reindeer! A fab Christmas card, so pretty!
ReplyDeleteWow, this is a beautiful card Loll! I love that stag, it looks good with some black on it so I'd say it is a happy mistake that you over heated it. Your blue back ground is just lovely and I love the embossing. Hugs, Brenda

Love how you embosssed that dignified PB deer die with Liquid Platinum EP. And the scalloped circle with embossing on the woodgrain embossed card front. A classy looking and unique card! All the elements--even the sentiment--work together so well to produce "the look".
