CAS Christmas July Challenge - Snowflake
Holy cow, there's nothing about this background that appears "failed". My background drawer is pushing the limits, but I doubt I have anything this pretty in there. Still, when used on just the right card with just the right stamps... this looks fantastic with the silver embossed deer. Wow!
ReplyDeleteYour 'dreamy' background is so pretty, and I love how you outlined the snowflakes with a silver pen...so clever! I also love your embossed deer and how you created the snow hills...another really gorgeous Christmas card, Loll! Barb xx
ReplyDeleteOnce you fixed up that background with the silver pen, it certainly no longer qualifies as "failed" - I'd give it a top score for being truly beautiful!! Wonderful soft colours! And the triple embossed deer is fabulous! Perfect sentiment as well as the deer looks so joyful.
ReplyDeleteGreat save Loll and what a stunningly beautiful card...so very pretty x.
ReplyDeleteWhat an amazing background, Loll - I never would've figured it as coming from the salvage box!! Funny how we have those.... Anyway - just adore the silver reindeer flying over the snowy background!!
ReplyDeleteOh, that background is so pretty! Lovely color and great touch with outlining the snowflakes! And, the deer takes center stage, so pretty! Great card!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a BEAUTIFUL card Loll...never would have known it started out as a fail! The background is gorgeous and the snowflakes perfect...and your deer is AMAZING with that thick coat of silver embossing! Love it!! :0)
ReplyDeleteA fantastic save, Loll! Love this background and it's even more beautiful with the silver outlined snowflakes! The joyful leaping reindeer is so rich and elegant looking with his thick silver coat!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous snowflake background for your shiny silver reindeer beauty, Loll. Glad you were able to save your snowflake background. TFS Hugs..Nancy
ReplyDeleteI'll have to remember to try and outline my stencils Loll. That's such an amazing effect, awesome save with your background. I love your embossed leaping Deer, the three layers give him a beautiful coat :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card Loll, and it's good to hear that I am not the only one with a stash of 'backgrounds that didn't work' to use :)
ReplyDeleteBlessings
Maxine
Brilliant save of that not-failed-after-all background, Lolly! This is a beautiful silvery snowflake card!! Hugs, Dolly
ReplyDeleteA beautiful reindeer worthy of taking over for Rudolf. What a great idea to outline the snowflakes.

I wished I had more failed backgrounds like this! Beautiful card, Loll. Outlining the snowflakes is a brilliant save. Love the deer... looks like a metal charm. I need to try this. xx
ReplyDeleteGreat save! I wish my failed backgrounds looked that good! I have a stash of backgrounds I am ever so slowly working my way through. They're stuffed in a bag and there is absolutely no room for more. I wish you hadn't said "box" cause I could easily just relocate the bagged items to a bigger container and keep adding to them! LOL I may not be making a ton of cards, but I stay busy making backgrounds!!! Love how your card turned out!
ReplyDeleteI can't imagine you failing at anything Loll, must less have a filled container of fails. This card is stunning! I love how you have outlined the snowflakes, makes them stand out off the paper and your embossed deer works perfectly with this outline. Love, love, love. Hugs, Brenda
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea to outline the snowflakes with a silver pen Loll, and that triple silver embossed deer leaping over the pretty scene is just perfect. x
ReplyDeleteThe silver shimmer is fantastic, Loll ... round the delicate snowflakes ... on that oh so handsome reindeer ... and on that wonderful sentiment! Gorgeous card ... fabulous save! Hugs, Anita :)
ReplyDeleteLove this card--the reindeer die (which I have) looks so good with the large silver outlined snowflakes and embossed with 3 layers for a nice rich look. I like that it is a scene -- a very realistic looking one.
ReplyDeleteGreat save there ..... love your snowflake background. The embossed deer looks so rich and shiny, almost like metal.
ReplyDeleteHave a fabulous weekend my friend xx
Great save, Loll! Love the soft colors of the background. And what a smooth silver heat-embossed deer with fantastic shine and dimension! Worth heat-embossing it 3 times!
ReplyDeleteHideko xx
I love your Christmas card, Loll. They have their own characteristic atmosphere, they are your calling card. I love this deer, covered with a thick layer of silver embossing and snowflakes that you have outlined with a silver pen. Stunning card
