Hi everyone. Today, my sweet friend Nancy, is celebrating her birthday! Happy Birthday to you Nancy. Have a wonderful day!!
I sent this to her a while back and she received it early (bonus!). I had fun making this card following Jennifer McGuire's video technique - Floating Frames. It's better to watch the video and follow the steps rather than me try to list them.
I didn't use the frame part as I didn't have a large enough sentiment at the time to fill it. Maybe later. :) I see more shopping in my future.
You really need to have stamps with matching dies for this. The second version I tried, I used just stamps and fussy-cut everything. Then it didn't turn out ... what a lot of wasted time! Lesson learned! :)
I really do like how the images float above the card base. I used zigs to colour the images so it's a happy, bright, birthday card.

What a gorgeous card Loll and love the colours, just so bright and pretty on the uneven edged background, not sure if you cut it this way yourself or whether you used a die. I have seen this technique on Jennifer's blog and as you say works best with flowers cut with a die and not by hand, and as I don't really have many stamp sets with matching dies haven't tried it yet. x
Thank you so much Lolly for the sweet birthday wishes. You already know how much I LOVED your floating images birthday card:-) I immediately went to Jennifer McGuire's video on Floating Frames and plan to try the technique in the future. I am looking for the perfect stamp set and matching die set!!! You are such an enabler my friend:-) Love that about you!!!
BTW, the card is even more gorgeous IRL and a joy to look at close up and IRL:-) Love and Hugs..Nancy
This is so bright and festive and perfect for Nancy's birthday! Love the look of the floating images. Something I haven't tried yet.
Wonderful Card Loll, I can see Nancy loved it :)
Love this beautiful card Loll - I must go back and re-watch the video, you have inspired me.
Blessings

I love using this technique ...... can be a bit fiddly but the results are always worth it.
Your birthday card is gorgeous, I'm sure Nancy loved it. The flowers are so pretty and beautifully coloured too xx
This is just gorgeous, who wouldn't be absolutely thrilled to receive a card like tis? I shall have to give the technique a go. I only have one small problem - I don't have any suitable stamps with matching dies! xx
Beautiful layout, beautiful colors, & beautiful card Loll...I'm sure Nancy absolutely LOVED it!! :0)
Fresh and so pretty, Loll ... the dimension on that 'floating' panel is fabulous! Hugs, Anita :)
You are always so inspirational and this is gorgeous. I will go watch that video. I love the colors you used and it does look like it is floating on the card.
What a cheery and pretty birthday card for Nancy! I can see she loved it.
The floating die-cuts have so much dimension and interest. I would love to try the technique. Thanks for sharing the video link.
