I foiled through a two-part stencil. First added transfer gel through the trunk of the tree. Let the gel dry until clear, placed a copper foil sheet over top and ran through laminator. Repeated the process, adding gel to the leaves of the tree and spring gree foil. Worked perfectly! Sentiment is gold embossed over top of a strip of the foil
My dear friend Barb, gifted me a "Stencil Pal". It's a large spatlula-type tool that spreads the gel evenly. No streaks which you sometimes get with a palette knife. Thanks Barb!

Don't worry if you don't have a laminator ... as I mentioned above, you can use sticky tape with foil ... or add it to a alcohol ink background that has lots of colour (it will stick to where the colour has pooled).
Come join in the fun!

Wow! I tried many times to foil and failed. Finally I bought a cheap laser printer and anxiously await the Minc. This is a combination a friend had much success with. My Scotch laminator failed miserably. This is such a brilliant way to get stunning results. Love this idea!
OMG...Gorgeous foil laminating over your 2 part die..trunk and leaves. TFS your details and close up of your shiny CAS Beauty, my friend. I hope I can play later this month. I do not have a laminator, but want to try the AI and foil technique:-) Your card and all the DT Girl cards are so Inspiring. Hugs...Nancy
This tree is GORGEOUS, my friend! It's so shiny and I love the two colors! The laminator does a much better job of transferring the foil than my fingers do.
Your tree is so sparkly and divine! Stunning card! I must admit the Minc gives me better results than a laminator. It has multiple settings which helps. I love the Minc Reactive paint and spray for an organic look.
Thanks for inviting me to join the team:)
A gorgeous foil tree card, Loll! I have not tried the foil technique yet, but you have inspired me to do so! Fab card!!
You are most welcome, Loll...I knew you were going to enjoy the stencil pal :)
I am so impressed with your foil tree...WOW! The shimmer on the leaves and trunk is amazing! I love the combo of spring green and copper, too...such a stunning card!!!
Wow, two step laminating I'm so impressed. The tree looks gorgeous in the green and brown foil :)
What an amazing result Loll - love the shimmer and shine on this stunning card!
Blessings
Maxine
This is stunning!! What a beautiful shiny tree and in 2 colours! Amazing!
Wow, failures? ...well you've definitely learned to master this technique. Such intense perfect foiling. This is quite the beauty. Bravo! xx
Oh wow, two colors! This is so cool and shiny. I love this challenge and will be trying it later in the month.
The shine from the foil is fabulous, Loll. Will try one of the no-laminator techniques for the challenge.
WOW! That shine looks amazing. Great results my friend ..... what a fab stencil too.
I'm so pleased to be part of such a talented DT .... thank you for having me xx
Never would have known you had more failures than good outcomes after seeing this beauty of a card Loll! The foiling is PERFECT!! I bought a laminator and LOTS of pretty foil earlier this year, played with it once and put it away. Guess I need to give it another try! :0)
I'm so impressed that you used two different colours of foil - it looks fabulous! I really need to get my laminator up and running so that I can make a card for the challenge.
Spectacular creation Loll. Simply awesome.
Wow, Loll ... such brilliant shine against all that glorious crisp white ... this is gorgeous! Hugs, Anita :)
You did an amazing job with the 2-step foiling, Loll! The tree looks stunning and the shine of the spring green foil is especially pretty.
Stop enabling me (just kidding!) - now I want to get a stencil pal so that my foiling will be smooth like yours. Or am I just blaming my palette knife for leaving streaks. ;-P
Hideko xx
Awesome results with the Transfer gel and foil Loll I love your tree it is simply gorgeous!
Great patience and what a striking effect with the foiling. Your card is so unique and absolutely amazing....I love it x.
What great results with two colors Loll! A beautiful shiny tree! I laminated one item - then jammed the machine with my next try - I folded a piece of parchment paper over the piece I was laminating and I guess it was too thick... so much for video instructions?! So I bought yet another laminator but now am afraid to put anything through it! I must give it a try! xx
Oh Loll! This tree looks dazzling! I love the mirror shine you get with the help of a transfer gel. A wonderful inspiration!
xx
A big WOW from me here Loll. This is stunning. I have never done any foiling and only recently bought some to try out - sometime.
