Hi everyone. Unfortunately, there are times for all of us when we need sympathy cards. I wanted to share this one I made for a special friend this week.
I used a stamp set from AliExpress. It's got two parts to the leaf sprig (outline and solid). I stamped the outline first with Versamark onto my black card base. I heat emboss in Princess Gold (Ranger). It's a yellow gold that I really like. I then did the solid leaves, again stamping in Versamark and this time heat embossing with copper. I added a heat embossed sentiment to match. A very simple yet elegant sympathy card.

Thanks for stopping by for a visit!

Jessie helped herself to my warm chair when I got up to a few minutes.
This happens all the time. :)

Great card, and I love all that shine on black!
ReplyDeleteOh sweet Jesse! Who could kick her out of a chair? Not I!
Beautiful card - love the heat embossing on the black. I'm sorry you needed a sympathy card.
ReplyDeleteTessa always takes my warm seat when I get up for a minute. I think they like the warmth and our smell. And then she seems annoyed when I make her move!
Such an elegant card and perfect for the occasion Loll. The double heat embossing effect is really striking and I love the black card stock x.
ReplyDeleteI don't blame the adorable Jessie....she obviously knows the best seat in the house x.
Beautiful card. However, please report to Altenew that their design has been stolen.
ReplyDeleteIt's beautifu Loll! I'm sure it will be much appreciated too.

I have these stamps Loll and have just used them with gold embossed outline but surprise surprise on white card as you know how I am with black! Wish I'd have been brave and tried the black now!!
ReplyDeleteLike the idea of the different coloured embossed leaves too - a change from watercolours and one I will try.
Beautiful card! x
This is indeed a stunning sympathy card Loll, I love the two metal colors together, especially on the black. Who knew to mix them, you did! I'm sorry you needed a sympathy card though. They are never fun to have to make. Aww, Jessie is so precious and sweet looking. Yep, they love to steal your seat. They say it is because they want to be near you when you are busy or not home. So must be something to that! I left the room one day and when I came back Savannah was curled up in my seat and she knows she isn't supposed to be on it. lol And I'm always finding Kahlua on the back of the chair so she can see out the window again. lol Hugs, Brenda
ReplyDeleteThis is such a classy sympathy card, Loll! Sorry you needed one. Getting in your warm chair is second to your lap, I'm sure.
ReplyDeleteUsing the two different embossing powders against that black card stock made a very classy card. That is a beautiful stamp. Thank you for your sweet comment for Molly. I miss her so much but had to laugh at Jessie jumping right into your chair the minute you got up. It's not your lap but the next best thing.
ReplyDeleteWhat made this so special is the fact that you thought to do it on black. I'd have sworn you painted it with shimmer paints but love that you used the stamp! This is such a gorgeous sympathy card and worth a repeat when you need one quickly. LOVE this!
ReplyDeleteThis is beautiful, elegant, and perfect for the occasion, Loll. The (twice-) heat-embossed leaf sprig looks gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteJessie looks like she's saying "He he he~, aren't I smart?"
Hideko xx

ReplyDeleteSorry you needed this type of card. It’s beautiful. The metallic embossing is very striking against the black.
ReplyDeleteAnd there goes Jessie again looking all adorable while keeping your seat warm.
An amazing card Loll - love the stamp set - and you have used it beautifully. Sorry to hear you needed it - but as we get older it seems to happen more and more :(
ReplyDeleteBlessings
Maxine
Ah, this is beautiful in the gold and copper on black. I really like the yellow gold so much better than a darker gold. I'm sorry you needed it for a friend, but I know it was appreciated.
ReplyDeleteOops, how could I forget to say how adorable and comfy Jessie looks? Sweet!!
ReplyDeleteMetallic on black. Always an elegant choice, Loll.
ReplyDeleteJust beautiful, Loll ... the understated elegance is perfect for a sympathy card. Hugs, Anita :)
ReplyDeleteThe beautiful metallic embossing looks so good on black, a very elegant card, Loll x
ReplyDeleteA simple card, but very striking, Lolly! I have that gold and love it, too. I can just imagine all the shimmer in real life! Of course, as gorgeous as this is, Jessie stole the show! She just gets more adorable with every photo!! (I have to say, if I were there and you got up, I jump into that soft and comfy chair, too!!) Hugs, Dolly
ReplyDeleteI think Jessie likes it when you warm up the chair for her...it certainly looks like that is what she is thinking :)
ReplyDeleteGorgeous sympathy card, Loll! I love how the copper and gold embossing pops against the black background and your CAS design is so elegant! Barb xx

I absolutely love the two metallics together Loll and would never have thought to do this. Jess made me chuckle - she's probably wondering why it takes you so long to warm the chair up for her!!

I love this card! So elegant! Do you know by any chance what this stamp set is called? I’d love to buy it but am not able to find it on Ali Express.
ReplyDeleteHi Sylvia. AliExpress doesn't keep their stamps for very long, so I doubt they have it any more. I don't remember the name. Loll
