Hi everyone. Welcome to the start of March's CAS Mix Up Challenge - Acrylic Paint. This month is being hosted by the very talented, Jenny (My Paper Epiphany).
Our Guest Designer this month is Betty (created by bjk). So happy to have you joining us this month Betty! Welcome!
I started with a background from my stash. I actually made this at one of the retreats almost two years ago. :) It's a dirty pour with acrylics. It's such a fun technique. Messy, but so worth it. I used the dirty pour for my ocean scene background. I added a few die-cuts of reeds, coral, and fishes.

This is a great card Loll, that background is just perfect. A wonderful and unusual die too xx
Fab card Loll. Sentiment is perfect for your lovely ocean scene!
Been reading up on dirty pouring - but as I don't have pouring medium am thinking of just trying to do it with some gesso... no doubt I shall make an awful mess! x
Fabulous card Loll, the background is amazing! What a lovely scene. xx
I do love a dirty pour - even my martinis must be extra dirty! wink!
Loll I adore your perfect background piece, and this wonderful pond die, and its inhabitants, too!
=]
Besides your gorgeous background what really makes this stand out is that wonderful, wonky die cut aperture. This is fabulous, Loll and love the saying you paired with it. Great colors too!
Fabulous card! Great use of the piece of a dirty pour as the cells really look like bubbles in the sea. The coral and the adorable fish are the perfect additions.
Your acrylic paint dirty pour background is so beautiful and perfect for the ocean, Loll! The colors, the water bubbles, the flow of the ocean water...just amazing!
Love the unique frame window and the punny sentiment too! Thank you so much for running the CAS Mix Up Challenge for 4 years! I'm so looking forward to having many more fun challenges, being on the same team with you!
Hideko xx
Gorgeous Acrylic Pour background for your seascape, Loll. TFS and we did have a really fun messy time with our Acrylic pours last May:-) Hugs..Nancy
Loll, your dirty pour makes the perfect background for your underwater scene. I love all your die cuts :)
P.S. Dear Loll, Happy 4th CAS Mix Up Birthday to you and Bonnie:-) This is still my favorite CAS Challenge even though I LOVE all the Challenges! Thank you for keeping us inspired by new techniques. Hugs..
Congratulations on your 4th anniversary, it seems like yesterday ;)
What a special piece of an acrylic pour. I love the flow and airiness to this background. Not to say that this composition is truly convincing, colourful and exceptional. Beautiful card! xx
What a perfect ocean that dirty pour makes, Loll ... there's so much movement and depth in it ... fabulous with those serene fish! Congratulations on four fantastic years of new techniques, fresh ideas and wonderful inspiration at CAS Mix Up! Hugs, Anita :)
Oh it's wonderful! Something I really want to try sometime is the pour! You have the perfect BG for that scene!
Beautiful and fabulous.

The background is gorgeous, Loll. What a pretty scene you have created with the die-cuts. x
Oh my goodness that die is perfect for an underwater scene, Loll. Your pour is perfect for the water. We did pours last year at my daughter's but mine didn't turn out well. I have a couple of pieces I cut up for backgrounds and since we need such a little bit for this CAS challenge I might be able to work with one. Happy Birthday! I can't believe it's been 4 years already.
This looks fab ..... the background is gorgeous and perfect for your underwater scene. I really need to have a play with the dirty pour technique .... looks like fun! xx
Happy challenge birthday to you Loll! Love that background paired with that great Memory Box die.
A great challenge theme Loll and love your sweet undersea scene with the fishes and coral and the dirty pour background looks so pretty in the background, and framed with that lovely white frame. A gorgeous card! x
The background is great and a terrific die-cut too.
I've never heard of this technique before, but I must say the results are so striking! Beautiful texture on the fish and I love the shaped die-cut! Absolutely stunning card, Loll!
What a gorgeous background Loll, and I love how you have used it behind the sweet fish
Blessings
Maxine
This is so beautiful. I love the soft colors and what a great die that is.
Happy 4th birthday! Wow, time flies. The acrylic pour background is beautiful for your ocean scene.
Such a creative card Loll! I love your dirty pour - I will have to try this technique:) I'm glad your blog is back in action!
The dirty pour is perfect as an underwater scene Loll and what a fabulous CAS card, whilst mixing the medias x. Happy 4th Birthday to you and the team too x.
So pretty, Loll, and I do love that wonky aperture. Your underwater scene reminds me of some of the dendritic background I created a few years back. Will have to go and dig them out...
