Hi everyone. Today I'm playing along with Twofer Challenge #27 - Flowers. You all know how much I LOVE flowers, so I couldn't miss this! :)
I used a stamp that I've had for AGES, but don't believe I've ever used on a card before. So I'll be sending this first card to NBUS Challenge #14.
I stamped my hydrangea on a post-it note and fussy-cut to create a mask. I stamped my first image in the center (bottom) of a piece of mixed media; topped that image with my post-it mask, and then stamped on either side of the center image to have the flowers go all along the bottom of my card.
I watercoloured the hydrangeas with distress inks, stamped a simple sentiment, and added a little bit of white with my gel pen to finish the card.
Close-up:
For my second card, I stamped the same hydrangea image onto mixed media paper and again watercoloured with distress inks. I cut a stitched square aperture in my card front, adding the watercoloured image to the background. A simple sentiment finishes the card.
I hope you'll join in the fun at Twofer, creating two different designs using the same stamp, die or stencil. And if you use something new (or old but unused), come add your card to the NBUS gallery!

ReplyDeleteI'm with you on the love of flowers, Loll. I'm still trying to decide which of my many flower stamps to use for this challenge. Yours are lovely all done in your inimitable CAS style.
ReplyDeleteHappy Mother's Day, Lolly! Great minds, yes, but you did a lot more work with your wonderful masking to make a voluptuous border! (I always wantede to use the word voluptuous in a comment!) I would love an entire bush of hydrangeas in that gorgeous hue and the sentiment flows with it so perfectly! And your second design is such a pretty thank you card. I am loving the colors of those, too! Thank you for encouraging everyone to play in Twofer and NBUS! Mwah! Take care and keep safe, my friend! Love, Dolly

I can't decide which color I like the best! Hope you're having a wonderful Mother's Day with your Mom and your boys! I'm sure Jessie is enjoying having playmates!
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful stamp, Loll! I love how you've used it on your two beautiful cards. xx
ReplyDeleteI would never guessed that your stamped and painted flowers were from a hydrangea stamp set...a great example of the versatility you achieved by masking. TFS both your gorgeous flower card designs, my friend. Happy Mother's Day too. Love and Hugs...Nancy

ReplyDeleteFantastic painting, Loll. I just love the highlights on these gorgeous blossoms! The font of your sentiment is fabulous too! Beautifully done.
ReplyDeleteLoll, I love these two cards! I love your coloring, and I am crazy about that die. I tried to find that die, and I could not. Did you simply purchase it from AliExpress or was it made by them? If not, would you please tell me who made it? Thanks!
ReplyDeleteHi Melanie. The stamp and matching die are from Avery Elle. Stamp is called Floral Bouquet. Loll
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! I love that you masked and only used a part of the image -- cool idea!
ReplyDeleteBoth are exquisite. I love this stamp and what you created with the Twofer Challenge. Both are so very different but equally beautiful. xx
ReplyDeleteGorgeous cards, Loll! So time-consuming to do all that masking, but really worth it...your cluster of flowers are so pretty and your watercoloring is sheer perfection!
ReplyDeleteI hope you had a lovely Mother's Day ~ Hugs, Barb xx
These are both lovely. I like how you highlight with the white gel pen. It really gives texture to the flowers. The water coloring is beautiful. I love the design along the bottom of the card!
ReplyDeleteI have this set and have used it only once! Both CAS cards are beautiful, Loll. You know I’m a huge fan of masking so I love how you‘ve used it to create a border along the bottom.
ReplyDeleteFabulous twofer Loll - just love both cards!! The yummy border looks amazing on card one and I love the crowd of flowers in the window on card two!!
ReplyDeleteLoll so glad you played along with the Flowers prompt at Twofer Card Challenges. YOur bouquet is amazing stamped as a border along the bottom edge. Fab colors as well. YOur aperture card is just a peek at those lovely blooms and makes quite an impact!
ReplyDeleteIt was fun coming across this challenge today over on Challenge for Days. I have enjoyed visiting these beautiful blogs and seeing two ideas to make with the same stamp. That is right up my alley, as I seldom want to repeat any card I make. It just seems more fun coming up with a new idea and different materials than just mass producing. Love your two cards so beautifully created. I love the lots of white on these two designs. My favorite kinds of cards to make.
ReplyDeleteTwo super pretty cards that I love so much! Beautiful colors with all that pristine white, sigh... So sweet!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful floral designs, perfect colouring xx
ReplyDeleteIt's amazing how different cards you obtained using the same image. I can't point out more beautiful because both are amazing
