Hi everyone. The above card is a reminder for the CAS Mix Up June Challenge - Embossed Vellum, hosted by Susan.
This is the first time I've used this embossing folder so I'm adding my card to the NBUS (never-before-used-schtuff) #15 gallery.

CAS Christmas Reminder card ...
The card above is a save. After watercolouring my image, I stamped a large sentiment with red ink. I then decided I would cut down the image slightly to make it more CAS. I didn't realize the red ink was not dry yet. I ended up with blobs of light red ink all over. I wiped off as much as possible and then cut the image down a lot. :) It turned out OK.

Well whatever the problem with the red ink it looks great now Loll and the berries look so pretty and love the bell, and the dry embossed cross stitch background on the vellum goes perfectly with the super floral image, and beautifully coloured too, and so elegant! x

ReplyDeleteLove the dry embossed vellum behind your pretty purple blooms Loll.
ReplyDeleteIf you hadn't been so honest about your splatters I'm sure that nobody would have noticed, the panel looks more than fine to me! :)
Two gorgeous cards for the CAS Mix Up and CAS Christmas Card Challenges, Lolly. I love your watercolored flower with the beautiful dry embossed vellum background. Awesome idea to add the clear acrylic sheet behind the vellum for support.

ReplyDeleteBeautiful vellum card Loll, I love the embossing folder you've used and the flower is so striking. Great save on your lovely bell card. xx
ReplyDeleteWhat a pretty purple flower, Loll! I love how it looks on the embossed vellum! A great idea to use acetate to stabilize the vellum! Cutting down the bell and berries didn't harm it one bit! It looks perfect! Those dang smudges!!! Two gorgeous cards, my friend!
ReplyDeleteTwo beautiful cards Loll, Love the embossed velum frame it adds so much texture behind your pretty flower.
ReplyDeleteGreat colouring of your bell so pretty, Red inks are pretty scary before they dry, darn thing gets everywhere. Great save :)

ReplyDeleteTwo beautiful cards, especially the one with the bell - fabulous colouring on it. I also like the dry embossed vellum - makes such a great background for the gorgeous flowers.
ReplyDeleteAnother pair of exquisite cards Loll - loving that embossed vellum, and what a brilliant idea to pop it on acetate for stability!
ReplyDeleteStay safe
Blessings

Two gorgeous cards! I love that embossed panel and the elegant flowers! Great save with the bell card - it looks perfect to me:)
ReplyDeleteI love that bell card!
ReplyDeleteTwo wonderful cards as always Loll. The acetate tip is now taken on board - your flowers look great on top of the cross stitch panel.
ReplyDeleteI wish I could craft without making a mess - good rescue here for the bells as I think it looks just fine! (My 'disasters' are never able to be rescued!!) xx
Both cards are just gorgeous, Loll. Your blooms are so delicate looking and your painting on the bell is incredible! Your shading on both images is so perfectly done! Two gorgeous cards!
ReplyDeleteTwo great cards dear Loll. Love the glassy effect on the first, giving a refreshing delicateness to the bloom, a true CAS card.
ReplyDeleteThe off the edge Christmas card is fun too, such a great save. It turned out better than OK! :D
As always, your cards are absolutely gorgeous, Loll! I love the texture on your embossed vellum panel and your silver bell is so pretty! I think this card turned out better than okay...the red berries and green leaves are a striking contrast to the silver bell and your CAS design is perfect!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for sharing your tip about using acetate to provide stability for the embossed panel ~ Barb xx
Beautiful cards, Loll, even if you did have to cut one down! Great save!
ReplyDeleteLOVE that embossing folder Loll! What a subtle look, but really makes a lovely landing spot for your gorgeous blooms! And I really like the look of your cut down bell image, so I'm thinking it was a blessing disguise that the red ink smeared (although I'm sure it didn't feel like it at the time!!). I love that bell image anyway, so in my mind there's not much you could do to ruin it...absolutely lovely!! Hugs. :0)
ReplyDeleteYour vellum card is just stunning Loll! I love that embossing folder, so pretty and reminds me of cross stitch. I thought it looked pretty sturdy for vellum, what a great idea for use acetate to give it stability! Your bell card is so pretty, and a nice safe as well! Glad you were able to save it as the coloring is just beautiful. It turned out more than ok, I just love it and your no line coloring. Hugs, Brenda
ReplyDeleteTwo awesome designs Loll, loving the water coloured flowers on the embossed vellum background.
ReplyDeleteThe embossed vellum adds so much texture to your fabulous card Loll and the flowers are so very pretty x. A stunner of a Christmas card and one great save x.
ReplyDeleteI'm completely smitten with your first card and that pretty die cut you colored! Such a cute embossed panel and brilliant idea to use acetate behind it. You must have some good vellum glue. Great save on your Christmas card! It turned out just beautiful in the end and you'd never know it was a save!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful reminder cards. Your embossed vellum with the acetate (clever idea) is perfect... looks like a trellis. And your bell... would have never guessed it was a save! Great job!
ReplyDeleteGreat save, Loll. Beautiful, watercolored bell and branch. Lovely card, my friend.
ReplyDeleteSuch an interesting idea to adhere acetate to the back of the vellum - I never would have thought of doing that but must try it. Lovely card, beautiful flowers.
ReplyDeleteAnd a fabulous Christmas card - the painting on the bell is wonderful. And what a great save after getting some red blobs on it!
Your vellum card is just beautiful ..... I like the idea of attaching acetate to the back, must remember that one!
ReplyDeleteGreat save too with the Christmas bell .... if you hadn't said anything I would never have guessed xx
The "stitch" embossed vellum is a wonderful backdrop for the fabulous spray of flowers, Loll! The Picked Raspberry looks so pretty against the translucent white.
ReplyDeleteLove that you used gray ink for the sentiment (instead of black).
I don't see any red blog marks at all on the second card! You watercolored the bell and berries so beautifully! I was curious and needed to see the original stamp image.
And then again, I was so impressed with your watercoloring skills. I would have so many muddy spots (mix of adjacent colors) and burrs!
Hideko xx
Wonderful cards Loll, the embossed vellum looks so textured and great idea to use acetate to support it. Great save on the Christmas card too, it's fabulous, Cathy x
ReplyDeleteWhat a great rescue job you did on your Christmas bell and berried branch, Loll ... it's so bright and festive ... and the red sentiment really pops! Lovely texture and layering on your first card ... so soft and so very pretty! Hugs, Anita :)
ReplyDeleteLove the soft look of your Christmas card. Those berries look totally inviting and go perfectly with the bell.
ReplyDeleteNot sure if you'll post today so I'll just add to this one since a little birdie said it was your bday... Have a wonderful birthday, Loll & happy crafting too!! Thanks for all your inspiration with beautiful cards!!
ReplyDeleteSuch a beautiful and elegant first card. Vellum pressing is difficult, I often have vellum cutting. Everything seems to look great with you. Thank you for the hint on how to deal with this problem. I also love coloring your wild roses.
ReplyDeleteI love the second Christmas card for beautiful colors. Fresh green beautifully highlights the gray of the bell. Two wonderful inspirations, Loll
