Hi everyone. Start of the CAS Christmas challenge for July with Marcia (Marcia's Stampin' Pad) as our host. Marcia would like to see a Nativity scene card.
This is the only Nativity scene I have and it's a beautiful die gifted to me by a sweet friend. I believe it's from AliExpress.
I die-cut the scene from black and also a back frame piece, glueing it together with alcohol inked acetate sheet in-between. I thought it looked too stark with the black against a white card base and none of my coloured card stocks looked right either. So I die-cut a second one from white and glued it on top of my black image. You may see a little black poking out, but I'm happier with the white version on top. Added a few silver stars in the background and a simple sentiment, both of which are stamped in silver.

Gorgeous. I really like the hint of the black layer peeking thru!
Oooo - just love the alcohol inked acetate behind your Nativity, Loll - gorgeous!!
What a wonderful die cut Loll - and I think the white was a good choice over that gorgeous AI green panel - love how you stamped the silver stars behind the arched frame - a beautiful design!
Gorgeous card Lol....
Hugs Sylvie xx
That die is just gorgeous! How striking it is with that rich contrast with the dark green alcohol ink background! This is beautiful Loll and since I'm behind on my Christmas cards this is one I'd love to case, even if I don't have that die.
WOW! What a gorgeous card Loll!! The alcohol ink on the acetate is so striking and I'm totally in love with your die cut image of the Holy Family! Lovely, lovely card my friend!! Hugs. 😊
Gorgeous!! Beautiful die and love the alcohol ink background!!
Very pretty Loll and a gorgeous AI background and the white with just a hint of the black which helps it to stand out I think. I love the pretty silver stars and a lovely sentiment too. x
This is fantastic, Loll! Your alcohol inked background is so dreamy and perfect for the scene. I agree that white on the surface looks better, but the black layer is definitely contributing to add more definition. The silver stars at the top and the silver sentiment below the image are really nice touches.
Hideko xx
Oh Loll, that is the most beautiful die. I may have to try and order that! You made a gorgeous card with it.
Beautiful AI background! I think you made a good call layering the white on top of the black! Love the addition of the stars.
Beautiful. Definitely agree with the white die-cut... the black peeking out just adds lovely dimension. The die (fab gift) and AI panel is gorgeous.
Gorgeous Loll, the edge of black on the image is a wonderful frame and I love that fluid green AI background :)
Vibrant and beautiful! Lovely, Loll
Amazing Loll - a beautiful die and so stunningly used on your card
Stay safe

What a gorgeous die cut, Loll! I love the alcohol inked background that peeks through! Adding the border of stars was a fantastic way to add a special extra detail!
Wow this is stunning Loll. I like the black peeping through and the alcohol ink looks amazing x. A real stunner x.
That's a beautiful die and stunning on the shiny green background. Wow! I don't think I have any kind of nativity stamp or die, but I'll look. I sure love your card!
Your white nativity scene looks perfect against your alcohol background which is so beautiful.
I think white was a great choice for your nativity, Loll...especially with your gorgeous green AI panel! Beautiful CAS design, too! Barb xx
This is a beautiful die and it looks good with the white against that lovely green background.
Stunning card, Loll...fantastic die of the holy family and the green background is so striking, I love it!
Simply beautiful! xx
The AI background sets the Holy Family silhouette off so beautifully, Loll ... and that's the most perfect sentiment to go with it! Hugs, Anita :)
Your alcohol ink Nativity background is Stunning, Lolly. Love the all white with a bit of silver from the stars and sentiment and green Alcohol ink...Gorgeous! TFS Stay safe and Creative, my friend. Love and Hugs...Nancy
The white diecut looks fabulous with the AI green acetate Loll, Such a gorgeous card, Cathy x
What a beautiful peaceful design, Lolly! I need to double-check, but I don't think I have any nativity sets. I think it was smart to switch to the white and the hint of black works great to add a little dementia. That background is amazing, it looks like the Northern Lights and I love the schprinkling of stars in silver!! Love, Dolly
Northern lights :O What an incredible and perfect background for this nativity card. What a glorious card.
Your green background is as beautiful as the aurora borealis. A wonderful card, special and unique.
xx
Oh, I see that Darnell had the same associations with the aurora borealis :-)
