CAS Christmas July Challenge

Hi everyone.  Start of the CAS Christmas challenge for July with Marcia (Marcia's Stampin' Pad) as our host.  Marcia would like to see a Nativity scene card.
This is the only Nativity scene I have and it's a beautiful die gifted to me by a sweet friend.  I believe it's from AliExpress.

I die-cut the scene from black and also a back frame piece, glueing it together with alcohol inked acetate sheet in-between.  I thought it looked too stark with the black against a white card base and none of my coloured card stocks looked right either.  So I die-cut a second one from white and glued it on top of my black image.  You may see a little black poking out, but I'm happier with the white version on top.  Added a few silver stars in the background and a simple sentiment, both of which are stamped in silver.

Close-up ...
We are thrilled to have Jane (PurpleJet Loves Crafts) as our Guest Designer this month.  Please check out the challenge blog to see Jane's beautiful Nativity card along with the wonderful cards from our Designers.  Then some join us!

What a wonderful die cut Loll - and I think the white was a good choice over that gorgeous AI green panel - love how you stamped the silver stars behind the arched frame - a beautiful design!

That die is just gorgeous! How striking it is with that rich contrast with the dark green alcohol ink background! This is beautiful Loll and since I'm behind on my Christmas cards this is one I'd love to case, even if I don't have that die.

Very pretty Loll and a gorgeous AI background and the white with just a hint of the black which helps it to stand out I think. I love the pretty silver stars and a lovely sentiment too. x

This is fantastic, Loll! Your alcohol inked background is so dreamy and perfect for the scene. I agree that white on the surface looks better, but the black layer is definitely contributing to add more definition. The silver stars at the top and the silver sentiment below the image are really nice touches.

What a beautiful peaceful design, Lolly! I need to double-check, but I don't think I have any nativity sets. I think it was smart to switch to the white and the hint of black works great to add a little dementia. That background is amazing, it looks like the Northern Lights and I love the schprinkling of stars in silver!! Love, Dolly
