Hi everyone. We are already half way through August ... this summer is disappearing fast! I'm here with a reminder card for the CAS Mix Up August challenge which is Beach (must use watercolouring on your card).
Adding this to the NBUS #17 challenge (never-before-used-schtuff).
And I'm heading over to the Penny Black Saturday Challenge with this card as well. The challenge for August is Anything Goes or Make the Sentiment the Focus". My card is an anything Goes. :)

Susan is our host.
Here's my ...
Five Golden Stars
I used a piece of smooshed (with magicals) watercolour for my background, die cut the winter trees and then heat embossed five stars in gold. The sentiment is stamped and heat embossed in gold as well.
Hope you've had fun playing with this challenge. Thinking outside the box in how to use stamps / stencils or dies in a new way has been good for me! :)

I hope you'll check out the challenge blogs to see the amazing cards from our Designers, Guest Designers, and participants. If you haven't had time to play along, there's over a week left before both challenges close on 24th at midnight PST. Come join us!

2 really lovely cards, as always. Your beach scene conjures lazy days by the sea, love the off the edge circle used to frame it too xx
ReplyDeleteTwo striking cards, Loll! Your watercoloring is always beautiful, and it works perfectly with your beach scene and smooshed background! Love your off-set design on the first card so much...I always forget to do that :) Barb xx
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely inking of your pretty palm trees Loll - You keep using PB stamps that I need to buy (!!!) Nice design with the blue sentiment for the beachy feel and the off the edge circle framing. The blue of your winter night sky is so richly dark and the perfect setting for your golden stars and the white trees below.
ReplyDeleteLove this pretty beach scene, Lolly! Fabulous sentiment to go with it! Your snowy trees look so pretty against the watercolor night sky with those stars shining above!
ReplyDeleteTwo inspiring cards! Love the off-the-edge design on the first. Beautiful watercoloring as usual. And another creative and fun modification to the song with those “fiiive golllden stars” 🎶 shining brilliantly against the sparkling blue background.
ReplyDeleteBoth cards are beautiful, Loll! Love the off-the-edge circle aperture design of the first card. I feel like I'm looking at this refreshing beach through a telescope.
ReplyDeleteThe magical smooshed night sky of the second card must be much prettier in real life. Your take on the challenge theme (the five gold stars) is so clever!
Hideko xx
Clever CAS design in your first card and great beach scene. The background in your second card is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteExquisite cards Loll - love them both
ReplyDeleteStay safe
Blessings

That palm beach is so inviting. Love the lightness of this airy scene, like a window with a view created by the off the edge aperture. The smart blue sentiment matches the ocean, truly unifying this whole scene.
ReplyDeleteThe second is just as beautiful. The blue BG is like the night sky. Love the smooshing results, creating so much movement. Great cards Loll xx
From one season to another in a mighty swoop with gorgeous cards, Love them both.

What a fabulous, crisp, wintery scene, Loll ... all lit up by your scattering of gold stars ... lovely! I'm guessing we'd all love to be under those lush palm trees edging the beach ... so serene and tranquil! Hugs, Anita :)

Fabulous cards, Loll, gosh your Lindy backgrounds always look so vibrant and beautiful, nicely done with the five gold stars! And your beach scene is amazing, I wish there were more hours in a day, more days in a week to do all the things I want to do! Heart Hugs!
ReplyDeleteWhether you're at the beach or in the winter snow, you rock your designs, my friend! Love the off-the-edge beach scene (thank you for sharing at NBUS!) and the brilliant starry sky of your CMU reminder card! Hugs, Dolly
