Hi everyone. I have three cards to share with you today. They are all the same design. The only difference is the colour of the bell.
These cards are from a play day with Susan and Christine, using embossing glaze. I started by stamping Christmas Story in a soft gray for the background. I used a new Sweet Poppy Stencil - Bell to add embossing paste over top. Then sprinkled embossing glaze (broken china for above card) and heat set while the paste was still wet. It adds some lovely texture as the paste bubbles and bursts.
The next card uses fired brick embossing glaze ...
It wasn't until I was cropping my photos, that I noticed the bell above is a reverse the first blue bell. The stencils are made of steel and I hadn't noticed that I turned it over. :) I like it both ways. :)
For the final bell I used speckled egg embossing glaze. This is a very subtle colour so it doesn't show up as much at the above two, but it is pretty (even more so in real life).
I'll be making more of these bells in the different colours. :)

your Christmas bells are spectacular Loll, the embossing paste and glaze are so pretty. I loved this technique and will be buying stencils and more glazes because of this :)
ReplyDeleteLove them in every colour variation! And very interesting that one of them is the reverse of the others! I like the stencil both ways. I need to try the stencil technique again - only my stamped ones turned out to my satisfaction. It was fun trying out our embossing glazes together.
ReplyDeleteThey are wonderful over top of that lovely Christmas story background, Loll!
ReplyDeleteNo glazes around here - but one never can tell when one might have a shopping trip on the inner web!
Thanks for sharing your fun play-date!

[I'm quite surprised by the greenish tone of the speckled egg! I had somehow thought of it as blue]
I love all the texture you created using embossing glaze, Loll! The details on the bells make them the perfect choice for this technique and I really love your choice of colors...especially 'speckled egg' with the soft gray background! Thanks for sharing this with us...I can't wait to try it for myself ~ Barb xx
ReplyDeleteYour cards are ALL absolutely BEAUTIFUL Loll! I've never heard of embossing glazes, but I'm very intrigued after seeing these cards! The bell stencil you used is beautiful and you used one of my favorite Christmas background stamps too! Lovely, lovely cards my friend!! Hugs. :0)

ReplyDeleteWow, these cards are gorgeous Loll!! I love the stencil you used of the bell, it is beautiful and stunning in it's own right, but then the colors of embossing glaze really look amazing on that background. The glaze stuff you used is so cool looking, gives cool texture it looks like. I love that speckled egg color! I'm going to have to check out this glaze! Hugs, Brenda
ReplyDeleteThese three bell cards are lovely, Loll! The texture created by the embossing paste and the embossing glazes is unique and interesting (bubble and burst effect). The bell colors look wonderful with the light gray text stamping!

These are all really pretty, Lolly! It sounds like you had fun playing with your new glazes! I'm going to have to watch a video on this because I didn't even know you could heat emboss embossing paste. So much to learn, so little time, lol! Hugs, Dolly
ReplyDeletep.s. Thanks for sharing again at NBUS! xxoo
ReplyDeleteI not only went to see what Susan and Christine did but I also watched Tim demonstrate the embossing glazes. I love them and they look beautiful over the paste like you used them. It's going to be difficult deciding which ones to get since I can't afford them all.
ReplyDeleteThank you for info on the Bell. I just purchased it and will purchase some glazes. Hope they turn out as beautiful as yours.
ReplyDeleteThat's a beautiful bell stencil and the embossing paste and glaze gives it amazing texture. The bell looks good turned either way. Really love the background, too!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful metal stencil and yes I love it both ways around too. the background stamping looks fabulous and what glorious cards, all three of them x.
ReplyDeleteWOW! I'm not sure what glaze you mean ... is it embossing powder? Anyway, the end result is great and I love each color version.
