Hi everyone. We are half way through the month of September. Today I'm sharing reminder cards for both CAS challenges. First up, CAS Mix Up September Challenge - Embossing with Dies.
I die-cut this lovely poppy Bodacious die (Penny Black) from watercolour paper and coloured with distress inks. I then used the same die to emboss the poppy on my card front. This give some dimension to the card. I used Wink of Stella to add lots of sparkle to the poppies. I didn't realize that I used the same sentiment (also done on black banner with white embossing) as I did for my CMU launch card on the 1st. :)
This is a fun way to stretch the use of your dies. Thanks to Jo for a great challenge!
I hope you'll check out the challenge blogs to see the amazing cards from our Designers, Guest Designers, and participants. If you haven't had time to play along, there's over a week left before both challenges close on 24th at midnight PST. Come join us!

CAS Christmas - Christmas Tree
This is a fun way to stretch the use of your dies. Thanks to Jo for a great challenge!

Here's the reminder card for CAS Christmas challenge - Christmas trees. I used a large Christmas Glow (Penny Black) stamp off the edge of the page to keep some white space on my card. I inked with distress inks, spritzed with water and stamped. Repeated until I was happy with the results. Once dry, I added a little shading with a medium green coloured pencil. The sentiment in red finishes this CAS design.

I love that shadow effect you have created with the embossed die, it gives subtle interest to the background. Gorgeous vibrant colour too. Your Christmas tree is wonderful great colour and looseness, is that a word? xx
Loving both of these Loll.
Your poppies are so pretty and if I had that sentiment I would use it all the time cos it's lovely!
The artsy look of the tree on the second works for me! x
Both of these cards are examples of how one vibrant hue can pack a wallop of a statement. Brilliant.
I keep forgetting to try the embossed die technique. Your flower looks so pretty Layered over the embossing Loll, and I love the vibrant green if your wonderful Christmas tree!
Love your die embossed background for your matching beautiful die cut and watercolored flowers, Lolly. Your sentiment and stamped sentiment were worth repeating:-)
Beautiful stamped and watercolored bright Christmas tree and CAS design for your 2nd card. TFS both beauties. Love and Hugs...Nancy
Very pretty Loll....how about a video to show the process. Thanks!
Paper Hugs,
Jan
Two beautiful inspiration cards, Loll - just love the embossed blossoms with the diecut ones atop on card one and the gorgeous watercolored tree on card two!!
Two stunning cards Loll, and love the dry embossed poppy as a backdrop to the cut and coloured one in that pretty vibrant pink and green, and finished with a lovely white on black sentiment strip, and then beautiful bright tree with just the right amount of water to give a slightly looser effect with also the yellow star and a lovely red sentiment too. x
What was that "ahhhh" you just heard? It was me sighing over your beautiful card. I love that look of embossing with a die - I just don't know how to do it. That is why they pay you the big bucks!!

I just found the CAS challenge with several tutorials about embossing with dies -- did I get luck or what!!

Both of your cards are so pretty Loll! Your embossed card is just lovely, and your Christmas tree card is so bright and merry...tow lovely, lovely cards! Hugs. :0)
Gorgeous, Loll! The die embossing adds so much, and I especially love that you took the stems to the bottom of the card -- fantastic!
I love the feminine touch to this extra special flower card. The repeat die embossing of the beautifully painted blooms gives it so much class. The sentiment describes it well.
The off the edge bright Christmas tree is fun too, definitely bringing some CHEER.
Thanks for playing along dear Loll xx
Beautiful poppies - love the way you used the die twice with the embossed panel and the die cut watercoloured one. Lovely colours and shading.
On the second card, I love the way you used just part of the tree and repeated the stamping till you got that great watercolour look.
Beautiful watercolored tree and the touch of red on that pretty sentiment. Hug, Loll
You've created a fabulous effect with the die embossing on your floral card Loll, I love it and your Christmas tree off the page is fantastic - very CAS and artsy. Hope all is well at your place, hugs and stay safe Robyn
Gorgeous poppies, Loll ... both in subtle embossing and in the fabulous vibrant pink! Your Christmas tree is beautiful ... so lush and full ... all the bright greens make it seem as though it's glowing! Hugs, Anita :)
This tree card is stunning Loll! How beautiful is that tree you used?! I love how you "watercolored" it, I really need to try this technique. That's a cool star you have on top too and of course the sentiment is just perfect. Hugs, Brenda
Sorry, for some reason I thought this was two separate posts, silly me! I love your flower card too, need to try this technique as well. Tried it once a few years ago, but didn't love the results I got...course I think you need the right die and at the time, I didn't like the die I used. lol So need to try it again. I love how beautiful your card came out and the sentiment is perfect as all our cards are handmade with love. Hugs, Brenda
Loll you've given us two really beautiful reminders!! I'm going to get my Christmas sets out just as soon as I'm done drooling.
=]
Two beautiful cards Loll, your poppy die embossing is a stunner. that die give so much detail in the embossing and perfectly coloured flower.
Love you penny black tree, a great reminder to pull mine out :)
Absolutely GORGEOUS cards, Loll! I love your bold watercoloring on the tree and how you off-set your stamping...such a great way to keep your design CAS :) I have to say, your poppy card has just become my all-time favorite card of yours...and that's saying something! The embossing on this card is so striking and beautiful, and I love how you created shadows and shading with your ink...WOW! Thanks so much for inspiring me to try this technique...Barb xx
Such beautiful pink poppies, Lolly! I love how they stand out against the embossing! And that Christmas tree is gorgeous! I may have to look for that one. I love how you've stamped it off the side and that sweet gold star! The perfect sentiment to go with it!
The most perfect poppy die cut to use for this technique Loll x. Eye catching colour combination and a real beautiful and stunning card x.
Wow ....to your contemporary and vibrant Christmas card and I love the watery effect x. Tons of inspiration with both cards Loll.....Thank you x.
I'm loving the embossed background using the poppy die ..... beautiful bold colours.
Great looking Christmas tree too xx
Oooh, I love all this color! Pretty flowers and a bright green tree. Twisted Citron is one of my favorites. Fabulous, Loll!
Awesome cards, Loll. Embossing with the die is such a wonderful effect. The poppies are beautifully watercolored. Fabulous sentiment, too, so I can see why you’ve used it again.😉 In colour contrast, your green Christmas tree is a standout. Just like its name, it looks like it’s glowing. Stamping off the edge is a clever design idea to save white space.
Your poppies are so beautiful, Loll! I love the combination of the pretty Picked Raspberry and the deep green, Pine Needles. The embossed poppies with dies add so much dimension and interest.
Your Christmas tree has a wonderful watercolor-look and the off-the-edge design of the bright yellow green tree is fantastic! Perfect one layer CAS Christmas card!
Hideko xx
Your embossing on the poppy card is totally gorgeous Loll and creates the perfect background for the coloured Poppies!
I love how you used this poppy die in two ways. The card is lovely. The second card, the holiday one, is so glowing. Your Christmas tree looks so beautiful
xx
