Hi everyone. Today is the start of the CAS Mix Up September challenge. This month is being hosted by the amazingly, talented Jo (Jo-Jo's Card Spot). She wants us to use our dies in a different way ...
I followed the video linked on the challenge blog by Lost in Paper. I just love how she stamped several flower images for a backgroud and then dry embossed with matching die to give a whole new look. I used the same idea, but used my stamped, watercoloured and dry embossed (with die) image as my main image. Adds a special touch to watercoloured images!
Close-up ...
I added some splatters with a mix of the two red inks used on the card (candied apple / real red). Also added a black sentiment banner with white embossing.
We are so excited to have Mac (The Sweetest of Peas) as our Guest Designer this month. Please stop by the challenge blog to see Mac's CAS embossing with dies card, along with the Designer's cards. You will be inspired!

So pretty Loll and the use of the die just makes the gorgeous flowers pop off the page. x
That shadow effect from the embossed die really adds something to the image, great colours and lovely splatters xx
I have so enjoyed discovering another way to extend my dies with embossing them Loll x. Your card is so beautiful and I have loved being your guest designer this month...A real honour....Thank you x.
Loll, Therese is a friend, and my most favorite of all crafters - she will be so happy to know that you've been inspired by her embossing with those dies.
I love it, too!

What a brilliant way to use this technique. I love the way it showcases your artwork and I'm grateful for the videos too - since I never quite got the hang of this. The matching die is perfect for this and I love the black sentiment. Now why can't I think of doing that?
What a beautiful bouquet of flowers, Loll! Love the shading and the bright flowers! The embossing adds even more depth to your beautiful design! Lovely, my friend!
A pretty CAS card with this gorgeous stamp and the die impression around it. Thinking I need to get busy on this challenge. Thanks for your beautiful card to inspire me!
I love this sweet and pretty little pot of flowers Loll and so beautifully watercoloured, and love the way you have used the die to impress around the finished flowers and some of the areas in between have the impression, too, so wonderfully embossed. I love the silver on black sentiment strip and the pink spattering which finish it perfectly. A gorgeous card! x
Wonderfully executed!!! This is such a special card - it looks very professional! Beautiful colouring and of course, I love the splatter!
Very pretty!

It's a wonderful card Loll... I love the colours and the embossed die behind the flowers. What a pretty font on your sentiment too!
This is blissful dear Loll. I love the composition and you've chosen the perfect stamp for this technique. Your watercolouring is truly sensational, from the softness of those blooms to the roundness of that container ...I want to see underneath the "handmade with love" hahaha because you've definitely put alot of love into this awesome beauty.xx
You did an amazing job on Therese' embossing idea, Loll! I love how you watercolored the flowers and leaves and how you added those perfect splatters! Another beautiful card, my friend! Barb xx
I don’t think I’ve ever used my dies to emboss a stamped/coloured image. Gives it lovely subtle dimension. Will need to give that a try after seeing your beautiful card.
This is really cool Loll, love how you dry embossed the die around the stamped image. As usual you you watercolored this beautiful pot of blooms so beautifully! Hugs, Brenda
Beautiful effect with the die embossed frame around your image :) have to try this.
This is so pretty. The embossing really highlights the stamped image and I love the added splatters on the background xx
What a fun technique with dies Loll and so beautifully done here with your lovely watercolored stamping inside the embossed die! xx
What a pretty pot of flowers, Loll! The debossed outside line gives a pop-up effect to the focal image, and the black sentiment anchors the pot nicely.
Hideko xx
