CAS Mix Up September Challenge

Hi everyone.  Today is the start of the CAS Mix Up September challenge.  This month is being hosted by the amazingly, talented Jo (Jo-Jo's Card Spot).  She wants us to use our dies in a different way ...

I followed the video linked on the challenge blog by Lost in Paper.  I just love how she stamped several flower images for a backgroud and then dry embossed with matching die to give a whole new look.  I used the same idea, but used my stamped, watercoloured and dry embossed (with die) image as my main image.  Adds a special touch to watercoloured images!

Close-up ...
I added some splatters with a mix of the two red inks used on the card (candied apple / real red).  Also added a black sentiment banner with white embossing.

We are so excited to have Mac (The Sweetest of Peas) as our Guest Designer this month.  Please stop by the challenge blog to see Mac's CAS embossing with dies card, along with the Designer's cards.  You will be inspired!

Main Products used are listed below with links.  I've included the paper I used with this card.  I use mixed media for the majority of my cards.  Blick Art Materials is the best price I've found.

Loll, Therese is a friend, and my most favorite of all crafters - she will be so happy to know that you've been inspired by her embossing with those dies.
I love it, too!

What a brilliant way to use this technique. I love the way it showcases your artwork and I'm grateful for the videos too - since I never quite got the hang of this. The matching die is perfect for this and I love the black sentiment. Now why can't I think of doing that?

I love this sweet and pretty little pot of flowers Loll and so beautifully watercoloured, and love the way you have used the die to impress around the finished flowers and some of the areas in between have the impression, too, so wonderfully embossed. I love the silver on black sentiment strip and the pink spattering which finish it perfectly. A gorgeous card! x

This is blissful dear Loll. I love the composition and you've chosen the perfect stamp for this technique. Your watercolouring is truly sensational, from the softness of those blooms to the roundness of that container ...I want to see underneath the "handmade with love" hahaha because you've definitely put alot of love into this awesome beauty.xx

I don’t think I’ve ever used my dies to emboss a stamped/coloured image. Gives it lovely subtle dimension. Will need to give that a try after seeing your beautiful card.

What a pretty pot of flowers, Loll! The debossed outside line gives a pop-up effect to the focal image, and the black sentiment anchors the pot nicely.
