Christmas Holly Print

Hi everyone.  Today I made another printed background using my die-cut holly (Holly & Berry Branch 51-404 from Penny Black) for the impressions.  It gives a very subtle design for the background with a bit of an artsy feel.  I "stamped" my die-cut and watercoloured holly twice before letting it dry and adding some more watercolour to intensify the colours before attaching to my card front.

The berries are coated with Clear Wink of Stella for a little sparkle, along with Crystal Glaze for a bit of shine.  The sentiment is stamped in red.

Thanks for coming by for a visit!

Stamps:  Art Deco Celebrate Christmas - retired (Poppy Stamps)
Paper:   White card base (Neenah 110 lb.); Watercolour card front and die-cut (Arches Hot Press 140 lb.)
Ink: Distress Inks:  Fired Brick, Mowed Lawn, Gathered Twigs (Tim Holtz)
Accessories:   water brush, water mister, Holly & Berry Branch die (Penny Black), Clear Wink of Stella, Crystal Glaze (Nuvo)

Love the background print and the way it came out so much lighter - great contrast with the die cut!

So very, berry pretty! Loll, this is just like looking outside my window! We have the loveliest crop of Winterberry this year - yikes, I hope that doesn't mean any bad weather indication!

These "stamping prints" are amazing, and I love that you went back in and added some color back in for definition

Gorgeous! That holly branch is so life-like. I love the gnarled look of the branch itself nearly as much as how you've "stamped" it. The background has such a lovely echo look, too. Wonderful Christmas card. Stay safe. xo Bev

I Love how well your stamped background with your watercolored die cut holly image turned out for your background, Lolly. I should try the technique sometime with my holly die cut. TFS and always inspiring me my friend. Love and Hugs...Nancy

Love the background - I really need to learn how to do this. Seems like using a die cut is the best way to go - I tried using a stamp but it did not come out as good as I would have liked.
Beautiful card Loll!
