Hi everyone. We are half way through November, which means it's time for the CAS Challenges reminder cards. Two very fun challenges this month.
First up, CAS Mix Up - Off the Edge (Watercolouring), hosted by Bonnie. Watercolouring is the technique this month and Bonnie wants to see images Off the Edge. It's a great way to have a different look with your stamps, stencils or dies. Make sure that your main image is watercoloured and design is CAS (clean and simple).
Bonnie is our host.
I'm using a favourite stamp of mine, Perfect Peonies (Clearly Besotted). I love this sweet stamp and die. I stamped onto mixed media paper and then watercoloured. I kept changing my mind about the colours I wanted to add so started with a soft peach, then layered on top with fired brick and seedless preserves distress inks, and finally added a layer of wilted violet distress ink. The paper couldn't take any more layers before it would start pilling, so I had to stop. :) Bright green for the leaves.
I die-cut the card front with a pretty corner die from AliExpress. Then added my die-cut peonies so that they went off the edge, trimming away the excess. Final step was to stamp the sentiment 'Love you" (Cosmos - retired: Technique Tuesday).

Heading over to NBUS #20 to add the above card.

CAS Christmas Reminder. What do you think of purple poinsettias??!! Turns out there is such a thing, although I've never seen one in real life. I started by created an angled panel from my main panel. It's a layout that I rarely use, but it just seemed right for this design. I white heat embossed the simple sentiment at the bottom of the black panel which gives a lot of contrast to all the white space. The poinsettias - Holiday Bouquet (Avery Elle) were stamped on to mixed media paper and die-cut using a matching die Holiday Bouquet Elle-ments (Avery Elle). The image was watercoloured with distress inks. Sparkle was added to the flowers with a clear Wink of Stella pen. Crystal drops were added to the berries and the whole thing was splattered with white to lighten the image a bit.

Beautiful cards Loll. x
Two wonderful cards, lovely water colouring and great die cut detail on your first card and the purple Poinsettias are amazing love the black and white contrast too xx
So incredibly gorgeous on both counts, Loll! I can see a hint of other color around the edges of the purple on your first card and it's a lovely touch. Fabulous purple poinsettias on your second card, outstanding against the black! I see you double-layered the die cut poinsettias, too. A work of art!
What beautiful cards Loll...love the purple pretty flowers on the off the edge card and the black card stock on the second sure does show off the beautiful flowers to perfection x.
Thank you for all the amazing inspiration during this unpredictable 2020 Loll x.
Lovely feast of purple on today's post! Beautiful off the edge stamping, nicely balanced by the die cut on the first card. And the purple is such a wonderful vibrant contrast to the black on the second card!
It was time to stop with the first flowers because they are a beautiful color, Lolly! Love that die cut in the top corner! This is such a pretty, feminine card! The purple poinsettias are so pretty against the black background! Love that interesting layout! Two awesome cards, my friend!
So gorgeous Loll and love the prettily watercoloured peony with that wonderful corner die, and then the dramatic look on black card using a beautiful winter floral, and the purple poinsettia is just brilliant. I too have never seen one, but they are so gorgeous. I love the angled shape to the mat too. x
Beautiful card, and I really like that layout too! And having that bit of black really makes those purple flowers pop! I would love to see a poinsettia that color!
Two beautiful cards Loll, but I always love the the pop of colour on Black :)
Stunning! Both are stunning, even poinsettias in purple!
What a beautiful and elegant off-the-edge card, Loll! The pretty white-on-white corner die-cut strikes a good balance with the peonies at the opposite corner. The layers of colors for the flowers are simply gorgeous. You gave me this stamp & die set, so I'll definitely case your card.
I love these purple poinsettias! They look so noble and striking against the black background. The angled panel design is so cool and looks modern with the black and white color combo. The white spatters are the perfect finishing touch!
Hideko xx
These are both absolutely BEAUTIFUL Loll!! I love purple so you had me right from the get go with both of these cards! And I had a real purple Poinsettia last year at Christmas, although I think mine was dyed. One of our local shops had all different colors of Poinsettia's besides the traditional colors and when I saw the purple I just HAD to have it! But anyway, both of your cards are just lovely!! Hugs. :0)
Love the clean appeal of the first card, the added die cut corner is a beautiful compliment, such a classy card. Purple poinsettias work for me. The black angled panel adds to the velvety look of your watercolouring. Two beauties. I will be missing you ...a lot! ...but I will visit regularly xx
Gorgeous cards, love the die cut corner on your first one and the colouring on black which is gorgeous on the second.

Two really gorgeous cards, Loll! Your peonies are so pretty and I love how you watercolored them in layers...a great choice for off the edge technique! Now that I've seen your poinsettias, I think they should come in purple :) I love how you placed yours on a black background, too...the perfect CAS card! xx
I would love purple poinsettias. So pretty, Loll.
I'm sorry...I meant to tell you how much I LOVE that you added your corner die on this card! I am definitely going to CASE your idea...thanks! xx
Two beautiful cards, Loll. My favourite is the first one, absolutely stunning design! xx
Love these- purple poinsettias, so different and so refreshing! I'm a fan on nontraditional Christmas colors so these struck my eye. I love it even better on the black background.
Both cards are so pretty with their purple blooms Loll! Love the cut out on the first one and the black background on the 2nd really makes your image pop! xx
your cards are always so gorgeous....love them both. I must say though, the black one is super dramatic.
blessings and hope you are well,
xx Karen
A duo of purple beauties! Both with gorgeous watercoloring. Great opposite corner design on the first. Love the second one... it looks amazing against the black!
Love the purple and love the card!
Should have said love the cards!
Two Gorgeous floral cards, Lolly. I love your love your watercolored off the edge peonies and die cut corner. Simply beautiful.
Your 2nd Christmas card in non-traditional colors is so beautiful and striking on the black cardstock cut at an angle. Love your added snow splatters too. TFS my friend. Love and Hugs...Nancy
Love your gorgeous cards. The purple poinsettias are so pretty and look great against the black background. The purple peonies are pretty also. TFS
Such pretty peonies, Loll ... so perfectly balanced with the delicate die cut in the opposite corner! The purple poinsettia is fabulous ... so dramatic and striking against the black angled panel! Hugs, Anita :)
I love how the lovely die cut balances out the gorgeous off the edge flowers, Loll. My art teacher daughter just told me yesterday how she loves that I stamp off the edge. ;) Purple poinsettias are a great way to use non-traditional colors.
Stunning cards. I love purple and your off the edge design looks beautiful. The black cardstock on your Christmas design really makes those pretty flowers pop! xx
