Hi everyone. It's the start of December's The Flower Challenge. This month, we want you to Add embellishment(s) on your card.
We are thrilled to have Helen (Cards from Helen) as our Guest Designer this month. Welcome Helen!
I kept my embellishment fairly simple by using some Autumn Flower Soft for the center of my stenciled dahlia. Not only does it add some darker colours, but it has lots of texture as well.
The stenciling was done during a Zoom call I had with some crafting friends. Julia (Create with Me) was sharing the shaving cream technique with re-inkers. The twist was to use it through a stencil. It was fun and messy all at the same time! :) My stencil had two partial flowers on it, so I fussy-cut them and created two cards.
Second card ...
Again, used Flower Soft for the center of my dahlia, with a copper embossed black sentiment border to complete the CAS design.I hope you'll check out the challenge blog to see the amazing cards from the Designers and Guest Designer, Helen. Then come join us! Remember to use a floral image as your main design and include at least one embellishent. See you in the gallery!
I used a beautiful Dahlia stencil from STAMPlorations, so I'm joining their December Stencil Challenge ...

ReplyDeleteGreat results from the shaving cream technique Loll - thanks for the shout out! Your flowers are stunning in beautiful colors - what a great double stencil! Julia xx
ReplyDeleteThe perfect bit of embellishment for a CAS card! The Flower Soft is very realistic in the flower centers, and the flowers themselves are gorgeous. Interesting twist on the shaving cream technique. Love the colors!
ReplyDeleteI was looking at your dahlia and wondering how you got that lovely blended effect. I would never have thought of shaving foam. It looks like it worked perfectly. I would have thought it would be quite a challenge with a stencil, but you have made it look easy, your result is fantastic xx
ReplyDeleteYour card is really lovely, Loll. I love the colours of the flower and the sentiment is beautiful. xx
ReplyDeleteThere you are again, Loll, introducing me to something [and someone] new! Flower soft? Very interesting - and pretty!
ReplyDeleteYour playtime was a success, too!

ReplyDeleteSo lovely with the Flower Soft for the centre of the flower. And really good job on the shaving foam through a stencil - I always make such a mess with that! Beautiful colour variations in both cards.
ReplyDeleteTwo Gorgeous stenciled dahlia's colored with your shaving cream technique, Lolly. I love how you kept the designs CAS and just added the flower soft for a realistic texture. TFS your beauties. Love and Hugs..Nancy
ReplyDeleteA fun idea to use shaving cream through a stencil and what stunning results you got. Beautiful colors of shaving cream you used.
ReplyDeleteFun and beautiful! I do remember Flower Soft, may have some on a shelf.... I'm intrigued if doing that method through a stencil allowed for paper/stencil to shift as you pressed down into the shave cream.
ReplyDeleteWhat a refreshing and brilliant idea and results are amazing! This definitely looks like something I'd like to do. Both cards turned out beautifully!
ReplyDeleteTwo gorgeous cards Loll. Love the shaving cream technique and the long forgotten flower soft. Great stuff.

ReplyDeleteThese are both absolutely BEAUTIFUL Loll! I love all the color you got with both of your cards...I was so afraid if I used too many different colors I'd get a muddy mess, but yours turned out SO pretty! Lovely, lovely cards and I love the flower soft in the centers too! Hugs. :0)
ReplyDeleteThese are gorgeous cards!! Love the big flower and the technique you did worked beautifully!
ReplyDeleteStunning cards again Loll! I just adore that gorgeous flower too of course ;) hugs Viv xx

WOW !! Big WOW! Two cards that leave me speechless. I didn't think you could dye with this technique through stencil. The end result is stunning. I love how you carefully cut these flowers to stick them adding an extra dimension to the card. These are the cards you will never forget.
