Hi everyone. It's the start of December's The Flower Challenge. This month, we want you to Add embellishment(s) on your card.

I kept my embellishment fairly simple by using some Autumn Flower Soft for the center of my stenciled dahlia. Not only does it add some darker colours, but it has lots of texture as well.
The stenciling was done during a Zoom call I had with some crafting friends. Julia (Create with Me) was sharing the shaving cream technique with re-inkers. The twist was to use it through a stencil. It was fun and messy all at the same time! :) My stencil had two partial flowers on it, so I fussy-cut them and created two cards.

ReplyDeleteThe perfect bit of embellishment for a CAS card! The Flower Soft is very realistic in the flower centers, and the flowers themselves are gorgeous. Interesting twist on the shaving cream technique. Love the colors!
ReplyDeleteI was looking at your dahlia and wondering how you got that lovely blended effect. I would never have thought of shaving foam. It looks like it worked perfectly. I would have thought it would be quite a challenge with a stencil, but you have made it look easy, your result is fantastic xx

ReplyDeleteFun and beautiful! I do remember Flower Soft, may have some on a shelf.... I'm intrigued if doing that method through a stencil allowed for paper/stencil to shift as you pressed down into the shave cream.

ReplyDeleteBoth dahlias are gorgeous, Loll! The colors are so pretty and the visual texture of the shaving cream technique is so interesting! I've never heard of Autumn Flower Soft, but it adds nice texture, and is perfect for the center of flowers.

ReplyDeleteIt sounds like a messy technique, Loll, but the results are fantastic. I love the range of colors on the petals and that Flower Soft adds just the right center for the dahlias.

WOW !! Big WOW! Two cards that leave me speechless. I didn't think you could dye with this technique through stencil. The end result is stunning. I love how you carefully cut these flowers to stick them adding an extra dimension to the card. These are the cards you will never forget.
