Hi eveyone. I'm excited to be playing along with Twofer Challenge #34 today. The challenge this month is ...
I do love to make flower cards. :) Don't forget the rules for this challenge ...
Close-up ...
Stamps: Look for the Rainbows; Thoughtful Messages (both from Simon Says Stamp)
Paper: Mixed Media (Strathmore 140 lb.); Black card stock (SU!)
Ink: Versamark; Black (Memento); Distress Inks: Abandoned Coral, Mowed Lawn, Wilted Violet (Tim Holtz)
Accessories: Liquid Platinum embossing powder, Clear embossing powder (both from Ranger), heat tool, water brush
For my second card, using the same floral spray, I stamped in black and heat embossed with clear on mixed media paper before watercolouring with distress inks and reinkers (Wilted Violet, Mowed Lawn). The sentiment is stamped in black and heat embossed in clear as well so that it matches the shine of the image.

Both these cards have already gone out in the mail! :)
Sending the first card to The Flower Challenge #52 - Embossing Heat/Dry.

Beautiful Lolly! x
ReplyDeleteBoth designs are so pretty with that lovely spray of blooms Loll - I love the first with it's fussy cut edge over the black which really makes it stand out - and the 2nd is beautifully CAS! xx
ReplyDeleteWhat a pretty spray of flowers to use on both of your fabulous cards Loll. Your 'thinking of you' card is so striking and I like how the fussy cutting of the pretty flowers shows up even more against the black cardstock.
ReplyDeleteCard number two is so delicate and absolutely beautiful Loll x. Two fabulous and inspirational cards x.
Jaw drop! Those flowers on either white or black are stunning! Black/gold/white is a favorite combo, and when you add in some beautifully colored flowers it's simply breathtaking!
ReplyDeleteI love the spray of flowers from Simon Says and so pretty in both colours in the more simple form on the left in that glorious purple, and then in a brilliant red, die cut and placed over a contrasting black bottom half which shows them off beautifully Loll. Two fantastic Twofer cards. x
ReplyDeleteOh I love these - both are beautiful. Two wonderful colour versions of the flowers and two great layouts!

Gorgeous cards, Loll! Love your choice of flowers and how you made each design unique! Great idea to fussy cut the blooms on the first one and place them over a black panel...so striking! Your 2nd card is so pretty and would fit nicely into the challenge at ATCAS (Emboss - Heat or Dry) if you're interested :) xx
ReplyDeleteLove both your cards and how you stamped and colored flower sprays for both cards and finished them for beautiful and different occasions. I love the black cardstock on your 2nd card for such a different look. TFS Love and Hugs...Nancy

Loving your twofers Loll! That spray stamp you used is so pretty. I love how you cut around the bottom of it and placed over the black cardstock. You have colored it so pretty too. Your second card is pretty with the purple color and is so vibrant. Love the purple and I'm not usually a purple gal. lol Both cards are nice and CAS, so pretty. Hugs, Brenda

The second design is so beautifully CAS .... love it! xx
What a perfect twofer, love the black and white contrast xx
ReplyDeleteTwo beautiful floral cards, Loll. My favorite is the one with the black. It really makes you flowers pop. But love the purple ones too,.
ReplyDeleteYou never cease to amaze me, Loll! These are fantastic -- beautiful image, pretty coloring, and oh that stunning bold contrast!
ReplyDeleteTwo beautiful cards, Loll!
ReplyDeleteSo cleaver to think of fussy-cutting the bottom of the image! It adds so much interest to the design. The color contrast is effective too.
The second card is simple and stunning! I love the petal color first of all. :-) Changing the orientation of the stamp image makes the card look totally different from the first card, and the big white space enhances the beauty of the floral spray.
Hideko xx
