Hi everyone. Today I'm sharing two cards made with the same stamp from the new release at Penny Black. This stamp is called Captivating (40-774) ... and it is just that!! This is one of my favourite images. I LOVE these gorgeous fuschias!
This card was fairly simple to make, as long as you like working with alcohol inks. I had this background panel in my stash, so it was ready to gold heat emboss to finish. :) This is a combination of my favourite colours of alcohol inks: Wild Plum, Sunset Orange, Sunshine Yellow (Ranger). Such bright and happy colours!
I used the Princess Gold embossing powder, which is a yellow gold. It compliments the background colours and shows up really well. I simply stamped the image and sentiment from Smiles (30-802) in versmark ink and heat embossed. LOVE how it turned out.

Sending this to the Penny Black Saturday Challenge - Anything Goes.
I made a second card using part of the same image ... it's so totally different that it doesn't even look like the same stamp was used for both cards.
This card was heat embossed in white and then watercoloured using distress inks: Picked Raspberry, Wilted Violet, Rustick Wilderness. I intentionally bled the colour beyond the outlines. I wanted a dreamy look. I mounted my watercoloured panel onto the second largest of the Sewing Stackers frames (51-651). The sentiment is from the stamp set Trust Me Builder (30-710), stamped in Rustic Wilderness DI.Close-up ...
I'm looking forward to using this stamp again and again!
Thanks for stopping by!

Both these cards are pretty amazing but I think I would choose the first one as my favourite if I had too. I think it can be hard to heat emboss on alcohol ink so that makes this one special too xx

And I love the soft dreamy look of the watercolored fuscia! Beautifully colored and I love how it blends outside of the lines! Two awesome cards, dear friend!
ReplyDeleteTwo beautiful variations using the same stamp. Love the vibrant AI colours in the first one - perfect with the gold embossing. The second one is so soft and lovely with the colour bleeding outside of the image.
ReplyDeleteThis stamp is gorgeous, and so are your cards. The first design is simply stunning. The gold embossing looks beautiful on top of those bright colours.
ReplyDeleteThe second card is, like you said, so dreamy. I love the effect you've got from blending the colours outside the image.

ReplyDeleteThe beautiful stamp looks so different on both of your cards Loll x. Vibrant alcohol inks and stunning effect on the first and what a gentle, wispy and pretty effect on the second x.
ReplyDeleteWell they certainly are both captivating. Love them. [Bunny]
ReplyDeleteThese are both gorgeous. The stamp is beautiful and the cards are as different as night and day. The AI blend is so pretty and the gold e/p really shows it off. I love that soft look on the second card.
ReplyDeleteI can see why you're in LOVE with this stamp Loll...it is SO pretty and both of your cards are absolutely GORGEOUS!! You know I love the pinks and oranges together, and the bright gold outline of the Fuchsia's works just beautifully against your AI background! Your 2nd water colored card is fabulous and you definitely achieved the "dreamy" look with your soft colors! Two lovely, lovely cards and I can't wait to see what else you come up with using this stamp!! Hugs. :0)
ReplyDeleteStunning looks using this beautiful fuschia stamp Loll, with the vibrant AI coloured background and gold embossed flowers and sentiment, then the softer watercolouring blended over the flowers and background and love that ornate mat which shows them off perfectly. x
ReplyDeleteWhile both are beautiful, your first has me enraptured! Those colors, and the image in gold is pure brilliance
ReplyDeleteWow Lol it's amazing how two cards with the same stamp can look so different! I love the richness of the first card and the soft pretty look to the second one. ;) hugs Viv xx
ReplyDeleteThis set of colors combined with golden embossing looks so amazing. A wonderful, bold card. And I love the second card for its delicacy of white embossing. Such different effects thanks to the use of different staining techniques.
ReplyDeletehugs,

I love the stamp and how different you made it look with the gold embossing on AI's and the watercoloured image. My Mum loved fuchsia's and always had them in her gardens.
ReplyDeleteOh. My. GOSH!! I've melted into a puddle here. Your cards are both so incredibly beautiful. I just now wrote Princess Gold EP on my shopping list, and the stamp may have to go on there now, too... as if I don't have enough stamps... and as if I have time to use them at the moment, sheesh. Wow, Loll!
ReplyDeleteFirst of all, I LOVE these gorgeous fuschias too, Loll!
ReplyDeleteBoth cards are fabulous and yet look very different from each other. Love how the passionate colors of the AI background show off the gold outlined fuschias!
The watercolord fuschias look dreamy, as you intended, and they have a delicate and innocent feeling. You did a wonderful job of showcasing the new release!
Hideko xx
A couple of beauties, Loll ... the first is rich and regal and so striking ... the second is soft and dreamy with such lovely colouring! Gorgeous, both! Hugs, Anita :)
