Hi everyone. Today I'm sharing two cards made with the same stamp from the new release at Penny Black. This stamp is called Captivating (40-774) ... and it is just that!! This is one of my favourite images. I LOVE these gorgeous fuschias!
This card was fairly simple to make, as long as you like working with alcohol inks. I had this background panel in my stash, so it was ready to gold heat emboss to finish. :) This is a combination of my favourite colours of alcohol inks: Wild Plum, Sunset Orange, Sunshine Yellow (Ranger). Such bright and happy colours!
I used the Princess Gold embossing powder, which is a yellow gold. It compliments the background colours and shows up really well. I simply stamped the image and sentiment from Smiles (30-802) in versmark ink and heat embossed. LOVE how it turned out.

I made a second card using part of the same image ... it's so totally different that it doesn't even look like the same stamp was used for both cards.

Both these cards are pretty amazing but I think I would choose the first one as my favourite if I had too. I think it can be hard to heat emboss on alcohol ink so that makes this one special too xx

ReplyDeleteTwo beautiful variations using the same stamp. Love the vibrant AI colours in the first one - perfect with the gold embossing. The second one is so soft and lovely with the colour bleeding outside of the image.

ReplyDeleteThese are both gorgeous. The stamp is beautiful and the cards are as different as night and day. The AI blend is so pretty and the gold e/p really shows it off. I love that soft look on the second card.

You know I love the pinks and oranges together, and the bright gold outline of the Fuchsia's works just beautifully against your AI background! Your 2nd water colored card is fabulous and you definitely achieved the "dreamy" look with your soft colors! ReplyDeleteThis set of colors combined with golden embossing looks so amazing. A wonderful, bold card. And I love the second card for its delicacy of white embossing. Such different effects thanks to the use of different staining techniques.

I love the stamp and how different you made it look with the gold embossing on AI's and the watercoloured image. My Mum loved fuchsia's and always had them in her gardens.

I just now wrote Princess Gold EP on my shopping list, and the stamp may have to go on there now, too... as if I don't have enough stamps... and as if I have time to use them at the moment, sheesh. The watercolord fuschias look dreamy, as you intended, and they have a delicate and innocent feeling. You did a wonderful job of showcasing the new release!
