favourite flower. That can be a tough one. I love lots of flowers, but my most favourite is the Stargazer Lily. The image above is a Tiger Lily (Penny Black), but I watercoloured it in the Stargazer colours. I love the shades of bright pink and the fragrance is amazing.
I stamped the lily in black ink, clear heat embossed and watercoloured with distress inks and zig markers. I then fussy-cut.
I used a embossing folder stamping background from my stash. This was done with a woodgrain embossing folder (Sizzix - retired) and Distress Inks Picked Raspberry and Gathered Twigs. I die-cut a square aperture (My Favorite Things - retired) on the card front and secured my lily with the bottom stem inside the aperture, with the rest of the flower outside. A simple sentiment (Trust Me Builder - Penny Bloom) was stamped in black to finish the card.

ReplyDeleteThat inked embossing folder woodgrain background is just great with your beautifully watercoloured lily Loll, and I have to say they are the loveliest of flowers with a wonderful scent, and you have captured the look of the Stargazer lily perfectly, and the black embossing shows it off perfectly. x
ReplyDeleteThat background looks stunning and I love how the flower is coming out of the frame and it's gorgeous vibrant colour - stunning xx
ReplyDeleteLily is also one of my favorite flowers . I love your card so much.
ReplyDeleteLoll, I googled the difference between Stargazer Lily and Tiger Lily. (That goes to show how much I'm ignorant of nature...) Anyway, now I know the difference, and your Stargazer Lily is so lovely! The shades of bright pink are so beautiful with the shiny black outlines. And I love the woodgrain front window panel as much as the Lily. I've never thought of using pink ink for the woodgrain texture. That's unexpected and it makes the card so special!
ReplyDeleteHideko xx
Gorgeous! Oh I do love this beautiful lily and background!
ReplyDeleteLoll, this is one beautiful Tiger Lily, love the intense color on it, you can almost smell the delicious fragrance.
ReplyDeleteFabulous fussy cutting too, and the woodgrain background frames it beautifully.
Awesome card, Teammie.
Stay healthy and safe.

Agree!... a tough challenge to pick one favourite flower. Your Stargazer lily is beautiful and watercolored wonderfully. Fabulous design, too.
ReplyDeleteI have that stamp and usually make a tiger lily from it but it's gorgeous as a Stargazer, Loll. I also have Altenew's Stargazer stamp set. Love the stamps but am allergic to the scent.
ReplyDeleteIt would be hard to pick a favorite, but lilies are right up there on my list. The Stargazer truly does have a heady fragrance. Your paper lily is so beautiful framed with the cleverly created wood grain.
ReplyDeleteHow amazing this lily looks from a wooden window. I like how you stained the wood and adding purple to the narrow strand looks very intriguing.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for all the support I got from you, my dear Loll in this challenge :-)
xx
Gorgeous card and I love your lily and the beautiful stargazer colors! Stunning!
