Hi everyone. Welcome to the new challenge - Twofer #39!
Please follow the rules:
I wanted to use the Rays Layering stencil- retired (Tim Holtz) for my two sunshine cards. The first card uses a piece of patterned paper from the I {heart} summer collection (Simple Stories). I was surprised that this paper is still for sale ... it's from 2013! :)
I sponged Versamark through the stencil on the left hand side of the card, sprinkling with Fossilized Amber Distress Glaze before heat embossing. The design is subtle, but I like how the glaze allows the works in the background to show through. A simple sentiment "Hello Sunshine" (Spring Sentiments - Stampendous) was also heat embossed onto a thin white sentiment banner near the bottom of the card. This card is meant as happy mail to celebrate the openings after almost 1 1/2 years of restrictions for Covid. There are a few quotes on the paper "OK gather with family", "Visit with Friends". Doesn't that sound great??!!
Thanks for stopping by!

OMG...Loving how you stenciled and heat embossed the sunrays over your encouraging designer paper. So cool how the words show through the stenciled rays. The sentiment is perfect for your encouraging card, Lolly. Wonderful Bright and Cheerful sunray sunny day card design with the added die cut bike. TFS both your wonderful cards, my friend. Love and Hugs...Nancy
ReplyDeleteI love the card with the bicycle and the beautiful yellow background. Makes such a statement.
ReplyDeleteWhat a clever idea to use the sunray stencil over the super word covered dp, and the bright summery look of the second in yellow and orange with the wonderful die cut silhouette bicycle and great coordinating sentiment. Two fabulous Twofers Loll. x
ReplyDeleteWhat a creative, fabulous and uplifting first card Loll. The stencilling and the Distress glaze looks amazing. A vibrant and sunny second card with both cards having wonderful sentiments. Fabulous use of the same stencil Loll x.
ReplyDeleteTwo FABULOUS and sun-shiny cards Loll! I'm especially loving the 1st card where you stenciled the sun rays over the patterned paper...that is SO cool! And how perfect is that paper for the times we are in right now??!! It was a good thing you held on to it for ALL THESE YEARS!! Haha!! Seriously though, great card Loll! And the 2nd card is just as bright and cheery and will definitely bring a smile to the recipients face! You certainly nailed this challenge Loll...LOVE them both!! Hugs. :0)
ReplyDeleteThat patterned paper is so timely, Loll, even if it is old. The rays just bring in the sun and make it a happy card. The bicycle silhouette is great with the sun rays behind it
ReplyDeleteBeautiful upbeat cards, Lolly! Love how you've used the paper on the first and that big, sunny sky with the bicycle on the second!
ReplyDeleteWow, Lolly, your sun rays glazed over that awesome text pp is very creative! I never would have thought of that and it's amazing - and especially appropriate for our times! And your encouragement card exudes warmth and friendship, just the thing to wrap your friend in a sunshine hug! Thank you for playing in TCC #39! Love, Dolly
ReplyDeleteLove the subtle Distress Glaze embossing over the patterned paper - what a great idea! And your sunshine with the bicycle die is so cheery.
ReplyDeleteLoll these are amazing - wonderful use of the stencil, and two very different cards. We really have had very little disruption of our lives due to covid, but I can understand your relief, and celebration, at being able to gather again!
ReplyDeleteStay safe
Blessings

I am loving both of your twofers Loll! The first one is fabulous and I love how simple it was to boot. It's always great when the paper can do the work for us. I love the subtle rays and how the paper and words still come through them. That paper is perfect too! Yes, gathering with family sounds heavenly!!! Then your bike with the sunrays is so happy, I hope it brings sunshine to your friend who really needs some in her life. I will say a little prayer for her. Hugs, Brenda
ReplyDeleteThese are very special as they are not quite the usual "Loll' cards and I love them. The suns rays embossed onto the first card look really great and the amazing yellow and black on your encouragement card will work a treat I am sure. Great twofer. I started a twofer this month and struggled to get one card done and have now given up! xx
