Penny Black - Mountain Magic

Hi everyone.  Today I'm sharing a card using one of the new stamps from Penny Black, Mountain Magic (40-751).

The background is a panel I made a while back, smooshing alcohol inks on acetate.  Even though there is the white card stock behind the AI panel, you can still see the translucent look with using acetate instead of Yupo or glossy card stock.

I stamped the row of bulrushes in Archival black ink.  Even though it does dry and shouldn't smudge, I always turn the panel over and put the stamped side against the card base to protect it.  I framed with black and added a simple sentiment (Happy Snippets 30-358)

All these stains after mixing the AI give the impression that some insects are walking on the other side of the acetate. So fun and surprising, yet so beautiful! The black silhouettes of the rushes perfectly complement the image and the black frame perfectly binds everything together.

WOW!!!! Gorgeous alcohol inks on acetate background, Lolly. I have never tried alcohol ink on acetate...must try soon!! Love your stamped bulrushes and your tip to turn over the acetate so the ink does not smear. It does take time for the archival ink to dry and even then it may not be completely dry. Love your black frame and sweet sentiment too. Your card should be placed in a permanent frame, my friend. TFS Hugs...Nancy

How striking! The black accentuated your bright acetate AI background beautifully. I thought this “fire-y” card was an homage to al, the fires burning in our province. *lol*😂

This sunset scene is breathtaking, Loll! Love the gorgeous background and the striking color contrast! Acetate is my favorite material to use AI on. The beauty of the ink colors with the transparent effect is just amazing!
