Hi everyone. Today is the start of the last Twofer Challenge (Twofer #41). Dolly (aka Darnell) ... thank you for all your hard work and dedication running this unique and fun challenge! It's been a really fun four years, my sweet friend!
Remember to follow the rules.
I used Puppy Mail (Gerda Steiner) for both my cards. The first card is an encouraging message I'm sending to a dear friend. I recently made a snow globe card that used 10 layers of frames ... so I have 10 pieces of the center left over and used one today for my background. :) I sponged the top with Rolling Clouds stencil from My Favorite Things in Broken China distress ink. The grass is another stencil called Slimline Grassy Hillside (Lawn Fawn), sponged with Mowed Lawn ink. I added a few details with a green watercolour pencil to the grass. The mailbox and puppy are stamped on a separate mixed media panel, watercoloured with zigs and fussy-cut. The sentiment (part of the same stamp set) was stamped in black to finish the card. For the second card I used the same puppy from the first card, changing up the colour of his fur. He is stamped, watercoloured with distress inks and fussy cut. I die-cut the Giant Happy Birthday die (Lawn Fawn), and watercoloured with zigs in colours of the rainbow. The puppy is popped up to add a bit of dimension. To me, it looks like the puppy is singing "Happy Birthday to you". :)I'm also going to send the second card to NBUS Challenge #29. First time using this adorable stamp set and the large birthday die.

10 layer wow! Was that a record? That's a great way to use for the centres and what a great little scene you have created. Love the bright boldness of your second card. Such a shame that the Twofer challenge is closing but completely understandable xx
ReplyDeleteLove both of these! That dog is adorable. It does look like he's singing happy birthday on the second card. And the first one is such a good way of using up one of your many die cut centres. I'd love to make a Christmas card with the dog and mailbox when we get together - one of my sisters has a mailbox exactly like that.
ReplyDeleteFabulous, Loll! I love the dog, he is so cute. Perfect cards for the ending of TWO=FER!
ReplyDeleteI love these cards. Thank you for sharing.
ReplyDeleteCute critters indeed! Both cards are great, and that pup is adorable, I just might have to go find me that stamp set :o)
ReplyDeleteAdorable pup for your Twofer Happy Birthday and Thinking of you cards, Lolly:-) I love all your bright and happy colors. It seems impossible that Dolly along with you and all her DT and GD's (even myself once:-) played along for 4 years!
ReplyDeleteI sure understand why Dolly needed to put her health and family as her top priority at this time. TFS your sweet cards, my friend. Love and Hugs...Nancy
Eeek! I love those dogs!! Terrific cards Loll!
ReplyDeleteYes the adorable puppy sure is singing happy birthday and enjoying it and what a happy and cheerful card Loll x. Fabulous colouring on your first card and great use of 'one' of those ten snow globe cuts....Adorable card Loll and will lift the spirits of the recipient x.
ReplyDeleteThat dog is darling, Loll. The birthday card is colorful and happy as it should be. The other one looking for happy mail just makes me smile.
ReplyDeleteI thought this puppy was singing Happy Birthday too, Lolly! So fun and festive! I love how he's announcing happy mail too! This is one adorable pup, my friend!
ReplyDeleteAwww, this is the cutest stamp set and totally adorable cards! The absolute most perfect sentiment on the first and, of course, the pup and the mailbox with those colorful envelopes -- love! Fabulous big birthday die on the second card! Super fun all done up in rainbow colors. I know it must have been a tough decision for Darnell, but sometimes a person just has to ease up.
ReplyDeleteThat sure is one of the cutest pups I've seen. I do love Gerda Steiner and he seems to have so much personality. As always you painted him perfectly! What fun cards!
ReplyDeleteI love these twofers Loll! That puppy is adorable and certainly does bring a smile to ones face. I love that he is singing gleefully that he got happy mail. lol Too cute! I also love that he is singing happy birthday to someone in the second card, even cuter! Makes me want this stamp set! Hugs, Brenda
ReplyDeleteDarling. What a darling 'puppers' image, Loll! He's absolutely adorable, and I just might be in love, lol!! Way to use those middles, too! Great idea. Love that watercolored 'happy birthday' too. Such sweet cards. And it's been a real pleasure playing alongside you at Twofer. You're an inspiration as a person, a designer, and an artist. So often I'm in awe of your work. And I know you will continue to inspire me and all other cardmakers out in blogland! xo Bev
ReplyDeletethat little puppy is so adorable Loll. The big rainbow birthday letters are awesome and who wouldn't want happy mail from him ♥
ReplyDeleteI'm sure your Twofer designs will sell a LOT of that cutie-pie doggie set, Lolly! He is adorable! He reminds me of Jessie on your fabulous happy mail design as he literally howls with happiness over those pretty envelopes in the mailbox! And I love the dome layer, lovely cloudy sky, and pretty green grass. Your birthday card design will be a keepsake for someone. It is the ultimate in festivity with the bold rainbow coloring, punctuated by a cool singing doggie!
ReplyDeleteThank you for being with me from the beginning, Lolly, helping me set up the Twofer Challenge and being on the Team as Administrator for the whole time. We made a great duo and we grew our friendship along the way. Mwah! And thank you for sharing with everyone at NBUS! Love, Dolly
Awwwwwww...I'm smiling too Loll as I look at both of your ADORABLE cards! That howling pup is just too CUTE, and totally makes me think of our 1st dog Brinkley and how he's howl at different things! Your encouragement card is definitely going to lift spirits and the birthday card will of course bring smiles! Thank you for always playing along with us at Twofer and inspiring us with your great creations! Hugs, Marcia :0)
ReplyDeleteThis cute pooch looks wonderful on both cards. I love both arrangements, although each card has a different purpose. You've designed two amazing cards to enter Twofer.

Who wouldn't smile at that cute puppy who looks so excited by the brightly colour mail in the box, and I the dome shape with the pretty clouds and bright and pretty green grass. The rainbow watercolour sentiment makes and interesting background on the second, and the sweet doggy looks equally as pleased and why wouldn't he..lol. Fabulous twofers. x
ReplyDeleteWonderful and sweet twofers for the final challenge, Loll! The puppy is so adorable and instantly reminded me of Jessie (even though Jessie has longer hair). The cloud and grass stenciling is beautiful, and the happy birthday sentiment is colorful and festive. It does look like the puppy is singing!
ReplyDeleteHideko xx
Not surprised you were smiling the whole time you were making these Loll - that pup is adorable! What a lovely sentiment on the mailbox card and what a sweet scene. Love the huge multi-coloured die cut happy birthday on the second and the way you positioned the pup so it would look as if he was singing it! Vicky x
ReplyDeleteHow adorable! The dog singing looks like Molly did when she threw back her head and howled. I love the bright colors and the arch background is so cool.
ReplyDeleteSuper cute cards, Loll! I love how you colored the pup so differently on each card! Great scene on the first one and your rainbow of colors on the 2nd card is just perfect! Thanks for making me smile ~ xx
ReplyDeleteDarling happy mail pup - just love your scene, Loll, and same pup looks so cute with the rainbow sentiment on card two!!
ReplyDeleteTwo fun cards .... love the little puppy, so cute! xx
ReplyDeleteoh I love that pup and your lovely bright colourful cards. They both look amazing.
ReplyDeleteFabulous cards, Loll! Awesome background for the happy mail card. The puppy is fantastic colored. To colour letters in rainbow colors at the second card is a great idea and makes the card looking fresh an happy. And the puppy really looks like as he is singing happy birthday. :-)
