CAS Mix Up October Challenge

Hi everyone.  It's the start of the CAS Mix Up October Challenge.  This month is hosted by the talented Bonnie (Stamping with Klass).  She wants us to incorporate plant material in our cards ...

I have to admit that I made this print a long time ago.  We did a lot of botanical prints during our last Crafting Retreat.  The process was fairly simple.  Forge outside for leaves and flowers.  Place them single layer on a piece of watercolour paper, then place another piece of watercolour paper over top.  Run through the Big Shot.  Let it dry before separating the two pieces.  You end up with two botanical prints. :)

I love the purple and green leaves together.  I layered them over top of a strip of burlap and then placed it on a woodgrain embossed background (gift from a friend).  The sentiment (Lace Leaf - Altenew - retired) is stamped in Archival Shadow Grey (Ranger).

Close-up ...

We are so happy to have Izzy (Izzy Scrap) as our Guest Designer this month.  Welcome Izzy!

Hmmmm... I didn't think to let dry before separating. That might have made a world of difference. Your print certainly turned out jaw dropping! The colors and details are amazing. Perfect with the little piece of burlap paper on wood grain background, too. Wow!

These prints are just SO clear Loll, I always make a squishy mess when I do it, but sometimes they make a great backdrop for other things. These leaves are simply immaculate and the way you have incorporated them into your card is terrific, I love the touch of burlap!

This is lovely and such pretty colors. I've never done this and only have one tree in my yard. Your leaves are gorgeous and made a great card.

Wowzers! Your leaf prints are amazing...so much detail. Adore the soft green with over the more dramatic purple. It adds so much to the texture of those leaves. Enhancing the panel with embossing, the rusticness of the burlap and the simplicity of the sentiment was a stroke of genius.

What a fabulous and unique effect with the fun technique. The colours look amazing and all lifted by the texture from the burlap and the dimension from the embossing x. A really beautiful card and these prints really should be framed Loll x.

WOW ! What a stunning result ! I definitely have to try the pressed leaves. Before reading your step by step process, I really thought that the green leaves were adhered on top of the purple ones. What a beautiful dimension you obtained. And gorgeous design as usual ! Thanks so much for the beautiful inspiration and for having me guesting for this challenge. Hugs x

Gorgeous leaf prints in the different colors Loll - I'm surprised they kept their dark color - sometimes they fade over time - love the burlap and textured background! xx
