STAMPlorations Stencil Challenge - part 2

Hi everyone.  I'm back with a second card for the STAMPlorations October Stencil Challenge.
Trying out another stencil technique using emboss resist.  I started by stamping Christmas Story (Penny Black) for the background, heat embossing in white.  I placed The Merry Tree stencil (ARTplorations) over top and sponged with two shades of green for the top of the tree (Mowed Lawn, Rustic Wilderness distress inks).  The bottom of the tree is sponged with Candied Apple and Aged Mahogany distress inks.  After the ink dried I took a dry paper towel and buffed over top to remove any ink that was on the white embossing.

I stamped the sentiment in Versamark onto black card stock and heat embossed in white.  Cut the sentiment banner to size and adhered to the front of my card.

I had a great time playing along with the challenge and hope to do it again next month!

Paper:   White card stock (Neenah 110 lb.); Mixed Media paper (Strathmore 140 lb.); Black card stock (SU!)

    What a great idea to emboss in white and then add the stencilling in those pretty colours for the tree and pot, and then buff to restore the white embossing for a really beautiful look Loll. x

    Love the way part of the background stamp is white on white, and the other part has the green and red of the stencilling over it! Great idea!

    Such a Vibrant colour combination and such a contemporary looking card. I Love the all over white heat embossing and then to pop the stencil on top. A really striking card Loll x.

    This is so pretty and I love the idea of stenciling over embossing. I'm putting that on my list of things to try, my long, long list. Using the tree stencil made such a cute card.

    Your tree is delightful, Loll. What a great idea to emboss the panel white on white and then ink the stencil. It gives interest to the background and makes the tree pop.
