I started the background using a Gear Stencil (AliExpress) and inking it with Bister Powders (brown, blue). I spritzed, turned over onto a piece of mixed media paper, and blotted with a paper towel. I ended up with a full A2 card front of my design. I cut off 1 3/4" to add to my card front (also added a piece to the inside). I stamped the sentiment (Birthday Blowout - Poppy Stamps) in Gathered Twigs distress ink ... it's a good match for the brown bister on the strip. I used some gear dies (AliExpress), die-cut from white, heat embossed with Verdigis embossing powder (turquoise), and then added a bit more random embossing with Frantage Aged Copper. I'm happy how they turned out.

Every year Alex takes a portrait of Jessie and of Violeta in our front yard, under the red maple tree.
The dogs always enjoy playing in the fallen leaves. :)

This is excellent Loll, such a great stencil for this technique. I love how it turned out especially the little cog embellishments xx
Gorgeous monoprint, and don't I just love all of these 'greyed down' colors, Loll! That bit of aged copper is spectacular on the cogs/wheels!
Thanks for a wonderful year of CAS challenges - a beautiful way to end the year!
=]
I can't tell you how much I love this card Loll! Fab monoprint and the cogs are gorgeous! Great man card. xx
Gorgeous monoprint gears panel and heat embossed die cut gears, Lolly. I LOVE your choice of colors and CAS design. I agree...the monoprint technique is an awesome technique with the most interesting and creative results. BTW..a great guy or girl card for anyone who is into fixing things:-) Loved the sweet fall leaves photos of Jessie and Violeta:-) Alex is so talented too. Love and Hugs...Nancy
I love, love your card so much, Loll! How perfect with the gear dies. Verdigris and copper EPs are awesome together and love how they match up with your ink colors. This is now one of my favorite techniques! So cool! Jessie and Violeta are utterly adorable in your beautiful red maple leaves. One year I wouldn't let Rich rake up the cherry tree leaves until I'd photographed Wally and LuLu in them. The leaves were very yellow that year and the pictures were awesome. These pics are wonderful!
Fab masculine card Loll, love the effect you've achieved with the ink powders and the embossing on the cogs.
Don't those two gorgeous girls steal the show though?! :)
Who would have thought gears could look so artistic. The colors you've used are really gorgeous. Of course, you had just the right embellishments to enhance your birthday card. The verdigris look is perfect on those gears. I'd never done this technique before but I definitely will be doing it again.
This monoprint using a Gear stencil is absolutely gorgeous Loll and the added die cut ones given the embossed verdigris treatment go beautifully, also the inside with a bit more of the monoprint added looks great too. What wonderful photos of Jessie and Violeta amongst the gorgeous red maple leaves, and love their check bandanas..they're so cute. x
You are good with the stencil monoprint technique Loll, loving the masculine feel of these two cards, the colors are so pretty, but yet manly. Loving the font of the sentiments too. Awww, I love the photo's of the "kids". Jessie and Violeta are so pretty in the colorful leaves. Alex takes beautiful photos, but then he has beautiful subjects! I could just snuggle those two! lol Hugs, Brenda
LOVE this! This is the perfect masculine card, Loll! I may have a similar stencil and can’t believe those gears were die cuts instead of metal embellishments. This is fabiulous!
Fabulous card, Loll. That technique looks pretty interesting and I really like the use of the gears. Your puppy and her cousin are adorable! Thanks for sharing!
I love how the embossing finished off your gears, Lolly! And that monoprint background is awesome! Love the colors and the crisp print! What a great challenge, my friend!
Fantastic masculine card, Loll. I love the verdigris gears that accompany the wonderful monoprint.
my favourite Bister colours Loll and love your gear stencil :)
Great pictures of Jessie and Violeta, Alex is an a mazing photographer and great with the dogs ♥
Fabulous autumn photos of Jessie and Violeta! I still treasure the photos Alex did of Will in the red leaves. And a fabulous card too - wonderful colours, great monoprint and addition of the die cuts. I'll definitely enter this challenge as I love stencil monoprints too.
Wow, these couldn't possibly be any more amazing!
What an awesome masculine card inside and out, Loll! Your stencil monoprint looks amazing! Love the color combo and the way 2 colors spread on the paper. The color matching and echoing gears are wonderful additions!
Hideko xx
p.s. Jessie and Vileta look so cute on the gorgeous maple leaf carpet! It looks like the pictures were taken in a photo studio!
Fabulous masculine card, Loll! I love your Stencil Monoprint...great colors and your metallic gears are the perfect touch...especially with your embossing!
Thanks so much for inspiring me to try this technique ~ xx
I forgot to mention how much I love Jessie's pic! She looks like such a sweet, happy pup :)
Wow! These are really GORGEOUS, Loll! Love the look and the texture by the pretty powders
Oh wow, this monoprint is lovely and the matching gears look great. You always have the best techniques. That red maple tree must be stunning because those leaves are awesome. The dogs look adorable and Alex captured them so beautifully. Wish I could be there to see them playing.
Loving the colour combination of the Bister powders and the technique looks fabulous with that wonderful stencil Loll x. Extra loving the frantage aged copper on the cogs/wheels. Adorable photos of Jessie and Violeta....Thank you for sharing x.
Such a wonderful gears print, fabulous colours & I love those embossed gear die cuts! Thank you for your warm welcome as GD this month ... xx
Oh, I love the look of the water blue and brown Bister powders here Loll - a pretty stencil used - and your gears look great in the copper - love this technique and your card! The pups are both so sweet and look lovely amongst the red leaves!
Love the finish on the cog die cuts Loll and the perfect monoprint you achieved for your card on the front and inside.
I just love the aged patina look on your card - the effect is just wonderful.
The colour combo in in this card is truly terrific Loll, perfectly suited to the subject images. The maple leaves are spectacular and the dogs look so contented lying in them!

Awesome masculine card! Your stencil monoprint turned out incredibly well. Amazing use of Bister powder (I struggle with powder inks 😆) Love the stencil and how you’ve added the other cut up piece to the inside.
Jessie and Violeta are just too adorable. And wow to those maple leaves… the colours are so vibrant and gorgeous!
I love how you can get such amazing images with bisters. The game of colors looks stunning and this is a lovely card for any guy.

Love the use of the stone colors! Terrific!
I like these beautiful and unusual colours and perfect to have the gears tying in with the same colours.
I love this design Loll, the colours work so well with that stencil and I love the added cogs too.
Gorgeous Autumn photos ..... Jessie and Violeta look adorable and colours of those leaves are stunning xx
