Hi everyone. Today I'm sharing my third "learning canvas" for resin pours. I'm liking each canvas better than the last, so I guess that means I'm improving. :)
I added a layer of black gesso to my canvas before starting. Once dry, I added some crushed glass on top of the canvas, moving it around until I was happy with the design. This time I used mirror glass, which are the largest pieces on the canvas. Next to the clear mirror glass, I added Sapphire Blue mirror glass (medium) and finished with a line of silver crushed glass (fine). Added more to the top corner to balance. Poured a layer of resin over top and let it dry for 24 hours.
Liked the way it looked (see below), but decided to play further, adding metallic paints and another layer of resin. Also added a few fine lines with a metallic silver marker ... definitely need work on that! :)

I am continuing to learn better ways to do things and getting bolder with my designs. I still need to work on my Dirty Pour. I was hoping for more shapes and not just lines. I think adding the glass first made it harder to manipulate the pour. I'll try a different order next time.

Just WOW! I can't even imagine trying this but would LOVE to see you doing it. I hope you frame this since it's gorgeous! I tried dirty pour and got more on my shirt than I did on the canvas. This is truly amazing!
I think all that you've done so far are absolutely AMAZING Loll! The colors are so bold and I'm loving the addition of the glass! I have never tried the dirty pour, but one of these days I'm going to be brave and try it!! I think this is gorgeous Loll and the colours with the rich blue and metallics and those different colours of glass look amazing, and the black gesso background really shows it all off. Don't worry it will return..just do whatever makes you happy. x

Wow, this is an amazing piece of art, Loll! You should frame it! The glass pieces look like jewels, and the flow of resin is awesome! The metallic silver lines make a big difference.

This is even more spectacular than the mental image I got when you were describing it, Lolly! It's cool how the lines flow like a metallic river. I love the black, bright blue, white and silver. I've been collecting material for some time to try this technique, but I'm afraid of this mess. Unfortunately, I do not have a suitable place. And your poured art looks stunning. A broken mirror in two colors creates beautiful areas and I can only imagine how it sparkles beautifully in the light.
