My talented friend Ina is hosting and my dear friend Mac is Guest Designing. I just had to play along! I haven't used my AIs for ages and so this challenge was the perfect prompt for me to pull them out.
Have to say that I stuck with my favourite combination of colours (Wild Plum - Ranger; Sunset Orange and Sunbright Yellow - Pinata alcohol inks). I first squirted some blending solution on a piece of Yupo and then added my inks, moving them around by tilting my panel. I added more as they dried and was able to get a few sticky areas where the ink pooled and dried so my silver foil would stick.
I added a silver foil card stock die-cut (Leafy Branch - Simon Says Stamp), along with one of the All Things Happy Sentiment Strips - also Simon Says Stamp).
Close-up ... It's difficult to photograph yupo and AIs with all the shine. This was the best close-up I could get.
I hope you'll pull out your AIs and foil and give this a try. Then come join in the fun at JUGS Challenge #627.

The girls stole the show, which was nearly impossible to do because your card is a star, Lolly! I love those bold bright molten colors with the flash of silver to cool things off! Beautifully done! Back to the girls - amazing how their coloring is the same. They are little sleeping angels! Hugs, Dolly
ReplyDeleteIt is such a great technique to add foil to alcohol inks and there is nothing wrong with sticking to tried and tested colour combos. I think your card is beautiful. I am off to visit Mac's now xx PS lovely to see the pictures of 2 such contented and exhausted little dogs
ReplyDeleteThis looks fab Loll, must admit that I've made my panel and now I'm trying to decide how to make best use of it! Watch this space as they say!. :)
ReplyDeleteLovely photos of the happy tired dogs!! And a great card - wonderful rich colours in the background that really suit the sentiment.
ReplyDeleteLove your vibrant background with the touches of foil, Loll- a perfect foil for the leaf die-cut! This is such a fabulous technique and I had never heard of sticky bits on an alcohol-inked piece so you could stick some foil on. Jessie and Violetta look totally pooped after their playtime.
ReplyDeleteHope you are well.
Hugs

This is gorgeous, Loll and LOVE that color combination. I too haven't not played with alcohol ink in a long time and forgot about foiling the sticky parts. What a beautiful card!
ReplyDeleteIncredible card, Loll! You rocked the background! I like your choice of silver and the simplicity of your design. So happy to see you in our gallery! The pups are too cute ;)
ReplyDeleteAnd then you have the shine of the silver metallic, too, but I have to say your first photo shows an utterly gorgeous background as well as the second photo. Now, there's Violeta and Jessie... two sleepy beauties from their day of play. How I love to see their sweet faces!
ReplyDeleteWow Loll, that AI background is gorgeous and the added bits of silver foil are beautiful as are those wonderful silver leaves, and love the black sentiment strip which goes perfectly. x
ReplyDeleteWow...Adding die cut foiled leaves was a stunning addition to your Gorgeous Alcohol Ink background using your favorite AI colors, Lolly. TFS my friend. Love and Hugs..Nancy
ReplyDeletePlus....LOVED the photos of Jessie and Violeta sacked out after their very busy playday:-) Always love it when you share photos of the kids:-) Love and Hugs..Nancy
ReplyDeleteI haven't played with my AI's in quite a while either Loll, but oh my goodness is your card ever pretty!! I love the colors and the shine from the silver foil and the leaf die cut...a match made in heaven!! Kind of like Jessie and Violetta! They are just too cute and look so content all snuggled up next to each other...melts your heart, doesn't it?!! Wonderful post Loll!! Hugs. :0)
ReplyDeleteNow that is a 'WOW' of a card Loll. The alcohol ink colours look amazing and I love the glamour of the silver foil x. Adorable to finish off the post with Jessie and Violeta, who clearly had a hard day! Thanks for the shout out Loll x.
ReplyDeleteThese elegant leaves are so pretty against the rich alcohol inked background, Lolly! Love the bits of silver on the background too! What a sweet picture of the girls!
ReplyDeleteI see why you used that color combination, it is a keeper. The silver leaves adroning that panel are lovely. I want to reach out and pet those sweet dogs sleeping together. How cozy they are.
ReplyDeleteSuch rich and bold colors Loll and I so love them! This card is beautiful. The foiling is so pretty with the alcohol inks as is the silver card die cut. But I have to say my favorite part of this post is the girls, they are looking so sweet and cute all snuggled up together! Violeta and Jessie are so dang cute, makes you just want to love them up one side and down the other! lol Glad these sweeties got some play time in together. I know Savannah loves when the "kids" come back to stay for a few days, but when they leave she gets a little depressed, especially if we can't go out to play ball because of the rain. lol Hugs, Brenda
