Hi everyone. So happy to be back with the June CAS Christmas Challenge after taking a three month break. This month is host by lovely Linda (Lin's Craft Corner) and she would like us to include a wreath on our cards.
I started by stamping Festive Wreath - retired (Avery Elle) in black ink onto mixed media paper. I heat embossed in clear before fussy-cutting out the wreath and bow.
I used distress inks to watercolour the wreath (Mowed Lawn, Rustic Wilderness), berries and bow (Candied Apple, Fired Brick). I dry embossed a white card front with Brick - retired (Stamper's Anonymous) and popped up the wreath and bow on top. I die-cut a sentiment banner (Small Folder Banners - Simon Says Stamp) and stamped the sentiment (Banners - Penny Black) in black ink, heat embossing in clear to match the image. The banner is popped up on top of the wreath.
Close-up ...

Beautiful wreath - amazing fussy cutting! Love the dry embossed brick background and the way you did the sentiment on the folded banner - it adds great dimension!
Loll, I'm happy to see the return of this challenge as it's always been one of my favorites. Your card is beautiful with the wreath on brick. Your fussy cutting is unequaled and the popped up banner looks great!
Beautifully painted and I'm in awe of your fussy cutting "fussy" being the key word for that image. What patience you have! The banner sentiment and embossed brick are so perfect for this.
Wonderful card, Loll! Your fabulous watercoloured wreath pops beautifully against the embossed brick wall. Amazing fussy cutting, too.
What a pretty festive wreath, Loll! Great job of fussy-cutting the image! The rough brick texture in the background is a wonderful contrast to the shiny wreath, and the folded banner shape adds so much interest to the card.
Hideko xx
