Hi everyone. I've made a holly card for the Peace on Earth Challenge #23, inspired by the top right photo of the POE mood board ...
I used my favourite holly die (Holly & berry branch die - Penny Black). I love the large size of this holly sprig and have used it numerous times. This card uses it with patterned paper ("ho ho ho Christmas" from Polkadoodles). I sponged around the outside edges of the holly leaves with Rustic Wilderness distress ink to add a bit of visual dimension. I used Real Red dye ink (SU!) to add shading to the berries. The holly sprig is popped up on an embossed background I received from a friend a few years back ... more than a few, I think. :) I love the added texture in the design with the embossing. To finish, I stamped the sentiment (Christmas Moments - Penny Black) in Real Red ink.
Close-up ...
Also entering this into the "Can you Handle the Pressure Challenge - Anything Embossing Goes". I love the depth from my embossed ornaments in the background. :)

Eep! This is at the top of my Top Ten Christmas Cards of 2022, Lolly! Holly and plaid and embossing? Mwah, perfection! A little thing like sponging ink on the outside edges of the leaves makes a world of difference! Of course, Miss Jessie always brings a smile. Just adorable napping on her duckie! Love, Dolly
A beautiful card, love the embossing and the Holly, a fab piccie of Jessie.

I can see why that is your favorite holly die, it's fabulous! This is beautiful, Loll but I'm afraid little Miss Jessie steals the spotlight!
This is so lovely! We had a giant holly bush in our backyard when I was growing up. We attached Holly sprigs to our plate of homemade cookies that we gave to the neighbors. I love anything Holly.
Beautiful Loll, I love that holly leaf it looks great in plaid :)

Seeing Jessie like that, I did wonder what she'd been up to before she crashed!! :)
How fun is this! There is nothing more striking than a plaid patterned paper on a Christmas die cut. It really adds some pizazz to it. Love this.
I love the plaid leaves, Loll. I have a similar die but I think it's smaller. I haven't used it in a while but now I have to pull it out and make plaid leaves. Thanks for the inspiration.
