Hi everyone.
It's much easier to watch the video than me try to explain it. Trust me, this makes quick card fronts. I have done this before ... check out this post with three samples (12 card fronts).
I made my four card fronts using the Penny Black Endearing stencil. I started with sponging distress inks (Mowed Lawn, Rustic Wilderness) over top of the stencil onto regular white card stock. I didn't mask the berries ... just sponged over the whole stencil. To add red berries over the green sponged ink, I used red acrylic paint and the end of my stylus - worked great!
I splattered white paint over the card front to add some interest. I felt it still needed a little somethin', so I used my silver permanent pen to outline the holly leaves and berries. Now I was happy with how it looked. Finished the card by stamping the sentiment (Christmas Moments - Penny Black). I kept aside one of the card fronts, cutting it up to create strips of stenciled holly for the inside of the other three cards.
So happy that I created three quick and easy cards with this fun technique. :)

ReplyDeleteThe stencilled holly is so pretty and quintessentially Christmas, and the technique of stamping on a larger piece to cut up and make four cards is a great idea Loll and I may give this a go myself...I did take a look at the video too. I think your suggestion of using a ball tool to add the little berries has worked perfectly and the added sentiment in red coordinates beautifully. x
ReplyDeleteGreat idea to quickly create some card multiples. Love the effect of the white splatters and the outline in silver xx
ReplyDeleteLove your stenciled holly, Loll - I'll have to try the Split 4 one of these days.. Thanks for the inspiration!! The silver outline adds the perfect touch!!
ReplyDeleteLovely holly Christmas card, Loll! Thanks for the good reminder to make multiple cards quickly, using the Split 4 Stamping technique. Love how you colored the berries with acrylic paint without masking, and added the silver outlines to the leaves and berries!
