Peace, Love and Joy

Hi everyone.

I'm happy to say that I have my Christmas cards done and mailed. :)  I'm sharing one that I made a short while ago using two beautiful holly stamps from Penny Black (Brillance).  I used the marker watercolour spritz technique, using SU!'s markers this time in Always Artichoke and Cherry Cobbler.  I found the SU! ink gives a more watercoloured, rustic look from using distress inks.

I added one colour at a time to the two sprigs of holly, lightly spritzed with water and then stamped onto a piece of mixed media paper.  I used a small brush to move some of the wet ink around until I was happy with the look.

Once dry, I stamped the sentiment (Christmas Sentiments - Penny Black) in more of the cherry cobbler ink.  To finish, I used my white acrylic pen to add some highlights to the berries.

I'm sending this card to the Penny Black Saturday December Challenge.

Just beautiful Loll, a wonderful CAS design. I mailed the last of my Christmas cards today too, just the local ones to hand deliver this week. There are lots of postal strikes in the UK for the next few weeks, so I hope the mailed ones arrive before Christmas. xx

Such pretty berry branches Loll and I love the watercoloured look inking and spritzing the stamp using these lovely coloured markers. Glad you have finished and posted your cards. I'm afraid I am not there yet but I'm working on it..lol. Like Liz says there are lots of postal strikes coming up and it is looking as though it will all be a waste of time, but we carry on regardless and hope that they arrive in time. x

Those berries look so juicy and lush Loll, that little dot of white brings them to life!
Well done you for finishing your cards on time, I'm hoping I've done all mine. Had to be early this year as the post is taking industrial action on the lead up to Christmas! :)

Love how you can make these gorgeous stamps appear to be your own watercolor painting. You made the most peaceful card. That's a great feeling having your cards made and mailed! Now onto other things. Enjoy!

Love this card Loll, it's so crisp and clean looking. The green and red against the stark white just reminds me of snow with berries and evergreens poking through. Love it! I got mine all mailed too....but I'm afraid my international ones are going to be late as they should have been mailed in early Nov and I didn't until end of Nov. Bad me!!! Hugs, Brenda

You must be relieved to have mailed out your Christmas cards. I'm sure you made and sent so many cards.
Now onto your Christmas baking and/or decorations? ;-)
This is a lovely Christmas card, Loll! The dark red berries with highlights are so pretty and I love the watercolor-look. I'll try with SU inks instead of distress inks next time I use this technique. Thanks for the useful tip!
