Hi everyone. I know ... we just finished celebrating Christmas from last year. :) But, I make over 100 Christmas cards every year, so I wanted to get started right away. I actually made these late last year and sharing them now. :)
I was inspired by a dear friend (Leslie - Running with Scissors) to create some cards using patterned paper. Click on the link above to Leslie's post with her beautiful cards using patterned paper.
All of us have patterned paper hanging about. I'm more of a collector than someone who uses it. :) Leslie's inspiration prompted me to make a few cards using patterned paper with simple embellishments to create beautiful cards. These cards let the patterned paper do most of the heavy lifting. I hope you enjoy what I've made and it inspires you to pull out those neglected Christmas papers.
These papers were gifted to me several years ago from a dear friend ... they are retired from Stampin' Up! Aren't they gorgeous??!! I'm happy to finally put them to good use. :)
Sending the card above to Merry Little Christmas Challenge #48 - Anything Christmas Goes ...
Inside of card ... just adding a small strip of the patterned paper makes it special. :)

Beautiful use of the patterned paper! Great card designs. You're inspiring me to use up some of my patterned paper!
Absolutely gorgeous cards Loll.
Happy New Year.

Beautiful pp may make these easier, but they are definitely beautiful in their own right! So wonderful, each and every one! Nice
these are great examples of how to use patterned paper. Thanks for the inspiration. I have actually stopped buying it as I realised I just never use it on my cards, but these are great xx
These Christmas cards using pattern paper are so beautiful. Since we don't have our challenge anymore, looking for easy cards with a pop to CASE. I'm hoping to do about 10 cards a month that are the same to get them done before Thanksgiving. Hope you are doing well. Hugs
Whoa, that is some gorgeous paper! Gee, it's nice to think I inspired you in some small way this time as you are continually inspiring me. I love all your different designs. The middle card is especially appealing to me. Thanks, Loll!
I did do a few quick and simple cards using patterned paper but it wasn't as pretty as yours, Loll. Adding details like that lovely poinsettia and the berry branch make the cards extra special.
Pretty paper, Lolly, and used beautifully with the die cuts and different layouts!
Beautiful PP and you’ve turned them into gorgeous cards.
Wow! Gorgeous cards! Great ways to use this stunning pp.

Patterned paper is not something I'm that interested in, but this is just gorgeous Loll, and it makes a fabulous background on all the cards. I love the poinsettia and large sentiment in white on the first, and the second with a great design idea splitting a piece into different sized strips and the berry branch is just stunning with the wonderful glossy berries in a deep red, matching the paper perfectly, and lastly the circle with another beautiful white poinsettia, and the gold sentiment is a great finishing touch. x
What a fabulous collection of gorgeous cards, Loll. I am going to have to revisit this idea.
Your paper choices for these cards couldn't be more perfect with those die cuts, Loll. I don't have much designer paper here but have purchased a few on Etsy. Love these. They are so festive and colorful!
Wow - this is a gorgeous paper and you have used it to great advantage with all three of your designs Loll! So pretty with the white poinsettias and red berry stem die cuts added! xx
Love that DP Loll, so pretty. Your designs show it off perfectly with just the right amount of embellishments. I must admit to having boxes of DP from my early days before I discovered CAS and Copics!! :)
Oh they are so beautiful as was the one you sent me... Thank you. I hope to visit a little more often though my typing leaves a lot to be desired. It turns out like that presciptive text on mobiles Lol!
I was sorry to read about CAS Mix Up closing and I will always be proud to have been on the team. I know things have been tough for you but I'm hoping 2023 will be a good one. Thinking of you Loll.
You got to love it when a pattern paper can do most of the work for you! I love these cards Loll, the paper is just gorgeous and you have used them well. I will have to keep these ideas in mind. Hugs, Brenda
These are absolutely BEAUTIFUL Loll! I buy so much SU! dsp and then never use it, but after seeing these beauties, I really think I need to adjust my thinking and start using! CAS and just GORGEOUS my friend!! Hugs. :0)
That Leslie is amazing and she inspires the heck out of me, too, Lolly. Now you are inspiring many more by showing us these beautiful design ideas for making Christmas cards👏 and for using, rather than hoarding, our pp👏! Each one is fantastic and, honestly, I thought you had watercolored the red poinsettia backgrounds! It's definitely hoardable paper, so well done using it! Love, Dolly
Fabulous cards Loll, there's some stunning patterned papers and I find it terrible difficult to cut them up... I did make some though just before Christmas when I was running low on card...it's a quick great idea
WOW! You did a wonderful job with the patterned paper. I love all the variations when you divided this paper in so many ways.
xx
Gorgeous card with that pretty pattern paper. Love the design of each one, especially the different sized strips on the 2nd card. TFS
Wow, all three are gorgeous, Loll! What a wonderful way of using Christmas paper. You inspired me to look at my design papers and make cards. You used the color white so effectively with the pattern paper, and your layout and design ideas are so inspiring!
