I started with Pear Pizzazz card stock from SU! and heat embossed Scarlet (Penny Black) image in silver. I used my Gandi-Tambi watercolour to add some colour to the poinsettia and berries using very little water (on regular card stock). Then I ink blended around the outside of the image; first with Shabby Shutter distress ink, and then on the outside edges of that is Peeled Paint Distress ink. The card was finished with splattering diluted white acrylic paint and adding a black sentiment banner with silver embossed sentiment (Believe - Penny Black).
I'm sending the card above to Merry Little Christmas Challenge #50 - Anything Christmas Goes.
I made a second card using the same design and products. The only change was I cut the panel down to create a more CAS (clean and simple) design. The black sentiment banner uses the stamp set Bright & Light (Penny Black).
I'm sending this second card to Christmas Craft Creations June Challenge - Heat Embossing.

WOW! This is gorgeous, Lolly! The green makes a perfect background and I love the colored poinsettia! It's so hard to watercolor on cardstock. Awesome job my friend!
Love that luminous pear green, Loll - perfect for your watercolored poinsettias!! Hard to pick a fave but I especially love the full card version.
WW These cards are stunning. Fabulous coloring!! And I just love that poinsettia image. Great Job!! Thank you for sharing with us over here at Merry Little Christmas Challenge Blog and best of luck with your entry.

Both of these are gorgeous Loll, and love the bright fresh green and the darkened edges really make the poinsettia image pop, and each finished with a lovely sentiment standing out in silver embossed onto black. x
the waterecolouring is a fabulous addition to the blended edge. I'll have to give that a go, thanks for the inspiration ♥
So many things about this card impressed me. First off I'd have never thought to watercolor on colored card stock but you succeeded perfectly. I'm still baffled by those who can splatter and make it look like splatter instead of giant wet blobs. The effect is fantastic!
This truly is a WOW!!! card! Bravo Loll - Just when I think you can't get better you do! Beautiful!
Sandy xx
this is stunning Loll - love the effect of blending on coloured cardstock, and your examples are inspiring

Two Stunning Christmas cards using the Ink Blending on CS technique, Lolly:-) Your SU Pear Pizzazz was a wonderful green cardstock choice for your beautiful stamped and heat embossed PB poinsettias. I LOVE everything about both your beautiful cards, my friend. When you mentioned using your splatter brush..what brush exactly did you use? Your splatters are perfect..not too much and not too little:-) I always appreciate your detailed descriptions for your posts, my friend. I am loving this technique from your Group of 7!! A very creative and inspiring technique, as always:-) TFS and Love and Hugs, dear friend:-) Nancy
Wonderful cards Loll, the colours are fabulous! xx
These are both absolutely GORGEOUS Loll! I'm loving the bright green ink blended background and how it makes the red from the Poinsettia POP on both of them! The black sentiment strips really stand out against that bright green too! Lovely, lovely cards my friend!! Hugs. :0)
I love how the inking makes the poinsettia glow, Loll. This is such a stunning card!
Two stunning Christmas cards Loll! I love the look of this technique and I love the colors you used. Using a little watercoloring is a nice twist too. Love the white splatters too, perfect for a Christmas card! Hugs, Brenda
Your ink blending around the beautiful flowers give them a halo effect -- so pretty!
Just jaw dropping gorgeous Loll. Can't stop looking at them and swooning over the sheer beauty of both.
Such a lovely look especially with the silver embossing. I hope i will eventually get round to giving it a go xx
So, so pretty Loll! How creative to watercolor another color onto your silver embossed poinsettia - love the bright green paper with the edges shaded darker - just beautiful! Julia xx
Beautiful card.
Both cards are gorgeous, Loll! Adding watercoloring elevated this technique to another level. Love the mature color combo and your excellent watercoloring on the regular cardstock!

Wow, this is really gorgeous, Loll! I do love the look of this ink blending technique, but I have to admit I would have a hard time not coloring the open line image, so thank you for this. It's utterly breathtaking. All that wonderful color and glow!
Love your colored poinsettias on your ink blended cards. They are so pretty. TFS
