Hi everyone. I'm excited to be joining the wonderful team at July Penny Black Saturday Challenge (Optional "The Great Outdoors") this month as their Guest Designer. Thanks to Helen and the team for inviting me!
You know me, flowers are my favourite subject matter, so I pulled out this fun garden image (Good Neighbours - Penny Black), which has some birdhouses and birds too. :)
I started with mixed media paper, stamping the image in Archival ink (Coffee). I watercoloured using Distress Inks (LOTS of colours, listed below). I wanted to match the design with the whimiscal image, so I cut my front panel on an angle and layered it over a bright green card front, along with a sentiment banner (Happy Snippets - Penny Black).
Close-up ...
I'm sending this card over to the Double D June Challenge - Color (see moodboard below). I used three of the four colours in my card. :) Thanks Diane & Darlene!
I hope you'll join us this month at PBSC where it's Anything Goes Penny Black with an optional theme of "The Great Outdoors". Hope to see you in the gallery! :)

Your sunny garden is so pretty and the birds look like they love their pretty houses! Congratulations on being Guest Designer at PBSC, my friend! A well deserved honor!
ReplyDeleteSweet image made into a sweet card -- love the offset panel and the sentiment mounted underneath.
ReplyDeleteSuch a summery card Loll, it reminds me of my flower borders, though the birds prefer to perch in the trees rather than use the nest boxes! I was greeted this morning by the swaying heads of poppies and the trill of a wren hiding in a conifer. :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card! I love the angle of the image panel and your colours! Great to have you guesting with us at PBSC:)
ReplyDeleteIt looks like my favorite place to be, Loll. In a flower garden watching the birds. Such a great card!
