Hi everyone. A few more cards for June's Group of Seven technique - Off the Edge. I do love this design element!
The card above uses a stencil "Off the Edge". I started by masking the outside petals of the sunflower stencil (Mini Joyful Sunflower (6x6) - The Crafter's Workshop) using post-it-notes, sponged two shades of brown Distress Inks (Brushed Corduroy, Gathered Twigs) for the center and then removed the masks. Add more masking to the inside of the flower and then sponged the petals in more Distress Inks (Squeezed Lemonade, Spiced Marmalade). Removed the mask and then simply stamped a sentiment from Thoughtful Messages stamp set (Simon Says Stamp) to finish this one layer card. :)
Sending this card to the Stencil Fun Challenge - July - optional Birthday (2nd entry). Thanks Diane and Darlene!
... and another ...
I stamped Red Star (Penny Black) in Antique Linen distress ink and then did no-line watercolouring of the poinsettia and greenery using Distress inks (Candied Apple, Fired Brick, Mowed Lawn, Mustard Seed). For some reason, my camera saw a pinky red for this poinsettia. :)
Sending the above card over to Penny Black Saturday Challenge - July - optional "The Great Outdoors".
I hope you'll join us at the link party on the Group of Seven Cardmaker's blog if you'd like to share your creations.

Wonderful cards Loll, I especially love the sunflower one. xx
Two pretty cards, Loll! That big sunflower is so bright and happy!
I always love seeing this sunflower and it's perfect for an off the edge style card! Your poinsettia is so bright and pretty and stamping off the edge gives it a different look! Two awesome cards, my friend!
Both so stunning!
Both the sunflower and the poinsettia are large and powerful flowers that work perfectly for off-the-edge, Lolly! Good choices and beautiful execution! Love, Dolly
Beautiful off-the-edge cards Loll - loving the sunflower on in particular!
Blessings
Maxine
Love this off the edge technique Loll, perfect way to use those large flower stencils and stamps. :)
Both are beautiful Loll.
Beautiful cards Loll. Love the sunflower design, and the poinsettia looks so festive. I really do need to start thinking about Christmas cards! xx

Both cards are just beautiful Loll! I love the bright and cheery sunflower card, the depth of color is so pretty! The Christmas card is so beautiful, loving that poinsettia! Isn't it funny how the camera can change the look of colors?! Hugs, Brenda
I love off the edge designs, and both of these are GORGEOUS Loll! That sunflower stencil is a favorite of mine and you've used it beautifully off the edge here. It always amazes me that they call this one the "mini" sunflower stencil when it totally takes up more than an A2 size card!! Your Poinsettia card is my favorite and is just STUNNING...a real CAS beauty my friend!! Lovely, lovely cards and a wonderful technique!! Hugs. :0)
Both of those flowers look fabulous stamped off the edge, Loll. What a cheery card that sunflower is and the poinsettia is beautifully watercolored.
That beautiful sunflower just speaks of summer to me! A perfect image for an off the edge card. And your poinsettia is so well watercoloured! Two fabulous cards!
You are right, it is an excellent technique and a really good way to use larger stamps and stencils. Love both these, but I think I choose the sunflower as my favourite xx
Wonderful off-the-edge twofers. And that sunflower is stunning!
Two more great 'off the edge' looks Loll with your beautiful stencilled sunflower, and the stamped poinsettia with that wonderful 'no line' watercolouring done brilliantly! x
So effective...stunning.
Two gorgeous cards Loll, the sunflower and poinsettia are so beautiful ♥
Two beautiful cards - love the poinsettia!
Both beautiful cards -- love the summery sunflower and also the sweet poinsettia -- both CAS beauties!
Both are fantastic one-layer off-the-edge cards, Loll!
The gorgeous sunflower is stenciled in happy bright colors! I think a big image like this is perfect for the off-the-edge design. Great job of no-line watercolouring of the poinsettia and greenery for the second card! Love the beautiful design!
I can't wait to make an off-the-edge card and share it with you soon!
Hideko xx
You can't go wrong with off the edge. They're both just gorgeous, and one layer. The sunflower and poinsettia both suggest the upcoming seasons beautifully. Perfect no-line coloring of the poinsettia. That's something I haven't done in a while. I swoon!
Both are simply beautiful Loll. Perfectly CAS.
Love your "off the edge" stenciled sunflower in bright Summery colors and your pretty no line poinsettia Christmas card. Your no line technique turned out beautifully. I don't think I have ever tried that technique..heh...a future GO7 technique?!? Both your cards have me inspired, my dear friend. Love and Hugs..Nancy
That sunflower is one of my absolute fav stencils Loll - it's so large you get a lovely view of it even when it's off the edge! and the bright poinsettia is so pretty in the corner balanced with the sentiment to the right! Julia xx
