Hi everyone. I follow Heather Telford's blog, an amazing artist and card maker. Recently she has made some beautiful watercoloured cards and added dry embossing over top when she is done. So cool! I had to give it a try.
I did the watercolour spritz technique for the Full Bloom image (Penny Black), using Distress Inks . This means using water soluable markers to colour direct to stamp, misting with water and then stamping on to water-friendly card stock (I used mixed media). It really does give your cards a true watercolour look. Once my image was dry, I ran the card front through my embossing machine with the Leafy Branch embossing folder - retired (Cuttlebug). I love how it adds some wonderful texture to the background. To finish, I added a simple white sentiment border stamped using a retired SU! stamp set.

A pair made in craft heaven, Loll. The PB stamp is perfect for the watercolor technique and that embossing folder is wonderful with the flowers.

Thanks for reminding me about Heather Telford's blog. I love her cards. Your Heather inspired card looks stunning, Loll. I love the watercolor effect you achieved by stamping. Embossing a card with an image through EF is a brilliant idea. The card is truly amazing. I also love the sentiment stamped in the colors of the flowers on the branch. This card will make someone's heart beat fast.

This is one of my favorite stamps and I love how you've spritzed the purple and green ink to give it a watercolor look, Lolly! The embossing adds wonderful texture and interest.
Beautifully done. I'm negligent with embossing folders and I must learn to use them for effect like you just achieved. It adds so much to the card. Love that image too!
