Turns out I have about six or so that I haven't used yet. It's not one of my go-to products, but I need to change that because they add so much lovely dimension and interest to cards.
I'm sending this to NBUS Challenge #59 ...
Ink: Distress Inks: Mustard Seed, Ripe Persimmon (Tim Holtz); Black ink (Obsidian - Altenew)
Accessories: Floral Field Embossing Folder (Simon Says Stamp), Floral Stem Collage (Poppy Stamps), details sponge brushes (AliExpress)
The folder I used today for my background is called Floral Field (Simon Says Stamp) and I've had it for a couple of years but never used it before. I embossed a piece of white card stock and then used some detail brushes to sponge over top, concentrating on the center of the daisies. Distress Inks were used for adding colour ... first, Mustard Seed, and then for the centers, Ripe Persimmon. I die-cut Floral Stem Collage (Poppy Stamps) to place over top. To finish, a simple hello sentiment (Happy Messages - Stampendous) is stamped in black ink. The die-cut flower and frame are popped up over the daisy background for added dimension.
Close-up ...
... and sending to Can You Handle the Pressure? February Challenge I didn't use the optional twist this month.
... and Beautiful Blossoms Challenge #14. I didn't use the optional mood board this time.
Thanks for stopping by!

What a happy card this is, Lolly! Especially when the days are dreary as we head into spring. I love the idea of blending the centers of the e/f flowers. I don't have a lot of luck painting the e/fs with water and ink, but this technique I will try! Thank you for the inspiration and for joining my I.D.E.A.S. journey! Hugs, Dolly
ReplyDeleteAnother beauty, Loll! Such a happy little hello!

Hi Loll, this is the first time that I have commented on your cards, which by the way, are always lovely. I have followed you for quite some time, as I’m always interested in fellow Canadian 🇨🇦card makers and want to support you. I have been unable to make cards due to health issues (I know you get it) but I’m able to start back now and your cards been a great inspiration for me. Thanks for sharing your talents, Loll! Best wishes to you!
ReplyDeleteP.S. Could you please tell me what sites you have found on Aliexpress that are trustworthy? Thanks :)😊
By the way, I haven’t used this blogging site before. How do I change my name on here to something less personal? Thx!
ReplyDeleteOhhh, this is really eye catching, Loll! Yellow and white are a favorite combo. My photo editing program does horrible things with yellow and I have to figure how to conquer that. Your die and EF are a beautiful pair. I would love to see the rest of your NBUS folders! I have a shameful lot I haven't used yet, too.
ReplyDeleteI'm replying to Anonymous. Since your email is not registerd on your gmail, you comments come up as (non-reply blogger), which means I can't email a reply. So I'm hoping you check back here for my reply.
ReplyDeleteThank you for following along with my blog and thank you for the lovely comment. So nice to hear you are able to start card making again!! As for AliExpress, it is similar to Amazon. You can buy directly from AliExpress using any of their vendors. Your transaction goes through them and they are responsible for your personal information. I have not had a problem buying from them. I don't buy directly from any of their vendors.
As for your second question about making your name something less personal. You show as Anonymous when you leave a comment. I don't think there's anything less personal than that. But if you want to change Anonymous, in gmail, click on the nine dots at the top right, choose "Account", there is a drop down menu on the left, choose "Personal Info". Scroll down until you see your name and click on the pencil icon to edit. Once you've changed your name and exit --- it is automatically saved. Hope that helps. Loll
This is super! Bright and cheerful, and framed too!

I just went to check and I have that embossing folder too and don't think I have ever used mine either...oh brother! Sometimes I think I like shopping for new supplies more than I like creating!
