JOY #5

Hi everyone.  I'm back with my fifth card using the Immense JOY die from Penny Black.

Today's card was so much fun to make.  I LOVE stenciling, so I used the Festive Layering stencil (Tim Holtz) to create my background.  I CASED this card, using the same stencil, same technique (stencil bleed), and similar colours of ink.  Then I added the JOY die-cuts over top, Gumball Green (SU!) for the background and white for the word.  I wanted the background to show more, so I trimmed the top panel so that a bit of the design peeks out at the top and bottom. :)

Close-up ...
I'm sending this card to the Peace on Earth Challenge #59.

Edited to add:  Sending this card over to Just Us Girls #717 - Color Week.  Thanks Ina!!
Thanks for stopping by!

  7. What beautiful bright green card Loll and a great contrast with the white 'JOY' die cut, and the Festive Layering Stencil looks so pretty using the stencil bleed technique, and I love that you let a portion of the stencilled background show at the top and bottom of the card as well as through the 'O'...gorgeous. x

  17. Gosh, Loll, you're such an inspiration. This is absolutely lovely, and what a wonderful collection of Christmas cards you're making! The stencil bleed is soooo pretty. This time I bookmarked it in my techniques folder. One of these years I'll try it, sheesh. That folder is so full!

  19. This technique of using strenicil gives a really beautiful effect. The "bleeding" of colors gives the impression of a colored fog. I love that you used this gorgeous image for another JOY card and that the stenciled panel extends from the top and bottom, creating a beautiful colorful frame that ties into the center of the card. Such an amazing look and stunning Christmas card
