Metallic Birthday

Hi everyone.  Today's card is a CASE of a card I made way back in 2014.  This is one of my favourite cards I've made in the many years I have been crafting, and it popped into my head recently.  I dug through my dies and found that I still had some leaves cut from leftover copper with alcohol inks pounced on top.  Awesome!  This means I'm getting to use up come long neglected die-cuts ... as well as some old patterned paper.  :)

Close-up ...

Sending this card to Seize the Birthday #284 - which was my inspiration!  Thanks Ashwini!

Also sending to IDEAS - "Anything Goes" week, self challenge by Dolly.  I've used some long neglected papers and copper! :)

This card is very close to the original card I made ... a little more CAS. :)  Always good to have masculine cards on hand.

  17. I remember this card from way back, and I ordered that copper after I saw it!! Now I’m going to make more leaves. Have LOTS of that copper to use up!Ha! Any other ideas for using that copper?

  18. Hi Donna. I received your email, but you came in as no-reply-blogger so I couldn't reply directly. I used the copper mostly to cut leaves for cards, but I did use it as backgrounds too. You can heat it with a torch, or pounce with a bit alcohol inks (leave lots of the copper showing) ... or you can use it plain. It dry embosses beautifully. Loll :)

  25. I have a sheet of old copper and I'm still wondering whether cutting the copper with a die will damage the die...? Looking at this card, I have the impression that even damaging the die will be worth it if you make such a beautiful card. Stunning!
