Penny Black - Sophistication

Hi everyone.  Today I'm sharing another of the new Penny Black release.  This time I've used a cling stamp called Sophistication (40-929).

I started with the Honeycomb Stencil (Penny Black), sponging along one side of my card front in Salvaged Patina distress ink.  Removed the stencil and then stamped Sophistication in Smoky Slate ink (SU!) and heat embossed in clear.

I watercoloured the image in Distress Inks (Ripe Persimmon, Crackling Campfire, and Peeled Paint).  I then stamped the sentiment (Family Sentiment - Penny Black) in more of the slate ink to finish the card.

Close-up ...

Sending the above card to two challenges:

  7. This is so soft and pretty Loll! I'm loving the lightly stenciled side of the card, and your main image is beautifully water colored! I don't know why I never thought of using Smokey Slate as an outline color, but I really like it and will have to remember that! Lovely, lovely card my friend!! Hugs. :0)

  17. Oh, my, this is pretty! I love this color, so expertly applied, and the honeycomb is such a nice effect. It's interchangeable with chicken wire, and so this reminds me of a volunteer flower that popped up along the edge of the chicken coop. All those years on a farm have stuck with me. Really gorgeous, Loll!
