Penny Black - Blooms

Hi everyone.  I'm back with two cards using one of the new releases at Penny Black, called Blooms (31-064) with matching die-cuts, In Bloom cut out (51-824).

I'm again following one of Jill Foster's video, Permission to Play #4.  She uses the hexagon frame for her card samples, but I'm using the same sketch, only substituting circles.  I started with the background, cutting two panels (4 1/4" x 5 1/2") and die-cutting a circle from each one (different sizes).  Both card fronts (and circles) were then run though my Gemini Jr. to dry emboss with Variegated embossing folder (65-008) using Bermuda Bay card stock.  I used a light touch of sponging over the raised design with the matching colour of ink.

I stamped both images from the Blooms stamp set onto mixed media paper in Watering Can Archival ink (Ranger) ... it's a dark gray and I love the colour.  I watercoloured both images in the same colours of Distress Re-inkers (Picked Raspberry, Mustard Seed, Shabby Shutters, Peeled Paint), and then used the matching dies to cut them out.

The first card uses the card front with the smaller cut circle.  I placed the daisies so the edge of the stems are inside the circle and the flowers are popped up.  I added a small die-cut sentiment in white (Heartfelt - 51-093).

The second card uses the larger circle cut out, popped up on foam for added dimension, with the second flower die-cut and popped up on top.  For the sentiment, I used Shining Wishes (Stick and Shine - 15-017) and added turquoise foil over top.  I love the shine! :)

I had fun making these cards! :)

  7. Who doesn't love a Twofer and these two are fab! The EF folder is one for my wish list I feel as I loved it when I watched the Jill Foster series. The lovely blue you chose for the embossed panel really sets off those flowers to perfection. :)

  8. A fabulous Twofer using these two very pretty floral images from PB Loll, and so beautifully coloured. The design on the first with the wonderful leafy embossing on that glorious bright blue card with the contrasting white circle showing off the daises so well, and the Twofer using the leftover circle from the first for a much more CAS look is terrific too, and if I had to choose for me the second with the simpler look would just have the edge..lol. x
