Guest Designing at Penny Black Saturday Challenge

Hi everyone.  I'm excited to be Guest Designing this month at PBSC!!  Thanks so much Helen!

The challenge is always Anything Penny Black Goes, with an optional theme, which is Flowers.  I'm using one of Jill Foster's sketches from "Permission to Play" - video #10.  I LOVE the Posted stamp and had a lot of fun making this card.  I can see me using it a lot for Christmas cards too. :)  Thanks again Jill!

The background is Seaglass card stock (Simon Says Stamp), dry embossed with Noted (65-005) from Penny Black.  I used Salvaged Patina ink to add a little colour over the raised design.

The postage outline is stamped in Shadow Gray Archival ink.  The inside border was masked off before stamping the daisies from Blooms 31-064 (Penny Black) in black pigment ink.  I watercoloured using Distress Re-inkers.   The image is die-cut using the matching die, Posted Cut out (51-778) and then I stamped the cancelled stamp in more of the Shadow Gray ink, popping up the panel over the embossed background.  Fun, easy card to make.

Close-up ...
I hope you'll join us at Penny Black Saturday Challenge!

Thanks for stopping by!

I've been following those Permission to Play videos too Loll, some great inspiration there, even if I prefer to use my Copics for characters. I love the postage stamp stamp and die, keep looking out for it but always out of stock, so others must feel the same. A great card and very summery. Hope your recovery is continuing well. :)

Congratulations on being a Penny Black guest designer! Lovely card in a great combination of colours! I love the way you did the background by embossing on coloured cardstock and going over it with a bit of ink. The postage stamp theme is perfect with a script background!

Blue and orange is one of my most favourite colour combinations Loll, and I love the way you added the blue ink to highlight the embossed script, and the stamped and coloured daisy/cone flowers with the postage stamp edge looks fantastic over the top. x
