Autumn Birthday

Hi everyone.  Today's card was made at the same time as the Stencil Monoprint card I posted a couple of days ago ...
I used brushos on mixed media paper with the Joyful Sunflower stencil to create 1) a positive print --- my card for today; then 2) flipping the wet stencil over onto a second piece of mixed media paper to create the negative (background) print for the stencil monoprint recently posted for Group of Seven.

I'm really happy with both cards. :)  I haven't done many prints with stencils recently and Group of Seven inspired me to get inky. :)

The top card uses the print, along with a small black sentiment banner with Happy Birthday heat embossed in copper.  Simple, quick, and easy card to make, celebrating fall's colours.

I sure do love that sunflower stencil and may just have to have it. Both cards turned out beautifully. I like that you get such crisp prints from this technique, not always easy to do.

I love the colors you got with the Brushos, Loll. This is such an exquisite card.

This is so bright and beautiful Loll, and the Brushos have such strong pigments which suit the sunflower perfectly, and the stencil monoprint from it came out brilliantly too. x

I like when we are on the same wave length, my friend! And our sunflower stencils really lend themselves to the bright powdered inks to create great prints and monoprints! Love the way you used copper to emboss your sediment! Thank you for joining my IDEAS stencil week! 📌Love, Dolly

I haven't done a monoprint like this for ages either Loll, I forgot how fun the results are. This is a fab example as was your first card. :)

This stencil is gorgeous both ways. The color on this positive is positively jaw dropping. Warm colors are my favorites and I really love how that incredible green sets off the ember glow of the petals!

Looking at both cards I can't decide which one is my favorite. Both are beautiful, although they differ in the intensity and weight of the main motif. This card has power!
