Instead of watercolouring, I sponged autumn colours of Distress inks (Mustard Seed, Carved Pumpkin, Crackling Campfire) onto a piece of mixed media paper. The coloured panel was dry embossed (Vine Canopy EF - Simon Says Stamp) on the de-bossed side of the panel. I then took Versafine Clair Chianti ink and used direct to paper, swiping the inkpad over the debossed and sponged side of the panel.
Once the panel was dry, I cut it into different-sized widths horizontally. I adhered the some of the strips to my card base (not all), leaving a bit of space between each strip. I stamped the sentiment (Simply Sentiments - Lawn Fawn) in Carved Pumpkin ink.
This was a quick and easy card to make.

Love that technique and what a great idea to cut the strips, it really helps add interest and is very effective. Love the colours too xx
So fun, Loll! This might be a good fit for Color Hues, too!

Great combination of techniques and fabulous colours!
Beautiful card Loll, I love the rich colours. Cutting into strips before attaching to the card blank is very effective.

Some wonderful contrasting colour using the debossed side of the pretty leaves EF Loll, and love the mix of orange and red tones with the deep reddish brown added over the top of the debossing. x
WOW! This is so dramatic and beautiful, Lolly! I've got to try this!
