Happy New Year!!

Hi everyone.  I hope you had a wonderful Holiday season and are starting off 2025 happy and healthy!!

Last year was a tough year for me.  I had more medical issues to deal with and ended up having surgery near the end of July.  It's taken most of the remainder of 2024 for me to recovery, but I am now feeling much better.

On a positive note ... we found our forever home and get the keys a few days ago! YAY!  We sold in May last year and weren't able to find what we wanted so leased a rental house for a year.  Thankfully, we now can take our time moving into our new house since we still have the rental house until the end of March.  It all worked out in the end!! :)

On to today's card ...
I was inspired a three challenges to create this card using some new-to-me Christmas gifts. :)

I started by sponging the background of my card front panel with distress inks (Salvaged Patina, Wilted Violet), then ran it through my Gemini with the Comfy embossing folder (Penny Black).  I used my white pigment ink pad to lightly tap over top of the embossing, which left white ink on the highlights of the texture.  I tore two strips of white card stock to create the snow hills at the bottom and added a die-cut reindeer, (Antlers - Penny Black), cut twice and glued together to create a thick die-cut.  The sentiment (Festive Snippets - Penny Black) is stamped at the bottom in more Salvaged Patina ink.

This card is made with all Penny Black products. :)  Speaking of Penny Black, I have been a contributor for them since 2018, along with many other talented card makers.  This year they have switched things up and are not using most of the past contributors.  I'm a little sad that I won't be designing for them.

Close-up ...
Sending this card to the following challenges:

Thanks for stopping by!

Stamps:  Festive Snippets (Penny Black)
Paper:   White card stock (Neenah 110 lb.)
Ink:   Distress Inks:  Salvage Patina, Wilted Violet (Tim Holtz); Unicorn pigment ink (white) - Hero Arts
Accessories:   Comfy embossing folder (Penny Black), Antlers die (Penny Black), sponges

Wowie, your white ink on the embossing is so distinct I thought at first it was texture paste. What a gorgeous card with the blended background, beautiful stag, and snowy landscape. I'm so sorry to hear PB is making these changes. You have been instrumental in my falling head over heels for their stamps. I don't know what it means for their future, but it makes me nervous. On a brighter note, I'm excited for you that you found your forever home and will have time to ease into the move. I hope you love it a lot and will be very happy there!

Happy New Year Loll. So pleased you've finally put 2024 behind you and can look forward to new beginnings in your new place. Love the embossed and ombre background, has a real wintery feel. After a mild and very wet and windy December, January has come in like a lion. Snow forecast for Saturday night but it was a gorgeous blue sky and frost that welcomed us today. :)

Happy New Year. Glad you were able to start it with a "forever home" and that you are feeling much better. I love your pretty card with the ink blending, embossed and tapped with the white ink. It makes a beautiful background for the deer.

WOW, WOW, WOW!!! This is one GORGEOUS card Loll! I love the colors you used for your background and that embossing folder is so cool! Did you put your card panel in the folder on an angle or is that the way the embossing folder is made? Either way, it is one beautiful card my friend! Happy New Year wishes and I sure hope 2025 is a healthier year for you! I also hope the move goes smoothly and your new craft room will be full of good light and creative vibes for you!! Hugs. :0)

Wow, Loll. A yay and nay both in one post. So sad that you won't be promoting Penny Black for them. Their loss since your use of their products is exceptional including this lovely card. Yay that you found the home you've been searching for. Sending good vibes that the move goes without a hitch.

This is a gorgeous card Loll and the colours are beautiful and enhanced even more with the white pigment ink over the added embossing, and that fabulous stag doubled up looks terrific on the torn paper snow hills, and a lovely blue sentiment to finish too. So pleased that 2025 has started so well, and that you are feeling much fitter now, and also with a permanent home to move into where I'm sure you will be very happy. The only sad part is that you will not be doing work for Penny Black anymore..you were a great ambassador. x

Love your colour choices! And you did such a good job tapping the white ink on the raised parts of the dry embossing. Beautiful reindeer, beautiful card!

Wonderful to hear you feel so much better Loll - older age is not for wimps, as my late DH always said - I agree with that now my years are starting to add up!
A beautiful card - once again
I do love that you have found your 'forever' home... isn't it amazing how all things work together for good!
Blessings
